Wilder and Stahl (played by Perfect Strangers Mark-Linn Baker and SNL's Joe Piscopo) are owners of a club who had to give in to mafia pressure to help keep their business going.
They arrange the son of a crime boss to scare a man who was going to expose how the mafia bankrolled them. He kills the man.
McCoy cajoles the owners to turn over as witnesses against the killer, thereby making them targets for the mafia unless they receive witness protection.
In and earlier season episode (DWB) McCoy undermined US DA Gervitz, Now it's Gervitz turn. He steps in and makes sure the witness protection is forfeited and the owners go to prison, which means a likely fast death sentence. McCoy s left to explain what happened to the stricken men, who know their time is almost up.moreless
