      • Jack McCoy: (about Roy Payne) Turn back the clock a few years, he'd be drafting the house rules at Auschwitz.
Auschwitz was the largest Nazi concentration camp during World War II. It was built in southern Poland. Elie Wiesel wrote the memoir Night about his imprisonment there.

      • Jack McCoy: Bill Kunstler must be spinning in his grave.
William S. Kunstler (1919-1995) was a well-known civil rights attorney. He represented Martin Luther King and Malcom X, among many other activists. He appeared on Law and Order during his lifetime, playing himself in the episode "White Rabbit".

      • Claire Kincaid: White power music.
Adam Schiff: Let me guess. Wagner.

Adolf Hitler was very fond of Wagner, especially his "Ride of the Valkyries," and he liked to use Wagner's music to accompany his speeches. Wagner himself also had a reputation for anti-Semitism. His music has been restricted in Israel.

      • The anti-Semitic yearbook message was based on a real case in Greenwich CT. Five white male students at Greenwich High School were suspended for inserting the message "Kill all n******" in their yearbook. The racist words were discovered after the students bragged about putting one over on the yearbook committee.
