    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    FILTER BY TYPE

    • TRIVIA (2)

      • This is one of a handful of episodes in which the District Attorney (Adam Schiff) shares a scene with a cop (Anita van Buren).

      • Nitpick: When the uniformed cop shoots Harvey, his collar pin indicates he's from the 115th precinct. The 115 covers Jackson Heights, East Elmhurst and North Corona, none of which can be construed as "Bayside". Bayside is covered almost entirely by the 109 and 111.

    • QUOTES (7)

      • Danielle Melnick: My client may be legally sane, but that doesn't mean he's not crazy.

      • Dr. Emil Skoda: There's a fine line between theory and diagnosis.

      • Dr. Naim: When I was a boy, my uncle in Tehran talked to the Moon. But he only talked to the Moon when my grandfather told him he must leave and find work.

      • Abbie Carmichael: I'm not comfortable with the idea of our just shoving pills down a man's throat.
Jack McCoy: I'm surprised, Abbie. If he ran away to another state, we'd extradite him. The fact that he's escaped into his own mind, shouldn't put him beyond our reach.

      • (Inside the schizophrenic victim's apartment.)
Ed Green: She hasn't been here in awhile?
Superintendent: I told you: her parents slip me a few bucks to keep an eye on her. You know they pay the rent, too; they tell you that? She's doin' fine until a few weeks ago, but I haven't seen her in maybe a month.
Lennie Briscoe: Sounds like the Brewsters were gettin' their money's worth.

      • (Lt. Van Buren enumerates the list of sketchy evidence so far.)
Ed Green: You want us to throw this back to the 3-1?
Anita Van Buren: Unless you've got a block of free time I don't know about.
(Van Buren exits. Briscoe enters and discusses fingerprint results.)
Lennie Briscoe: What'd the lieutenant have to say?
(Green glances to make sure Van Buren is still out of earshot.)
Ed Green: She said run with it.

      • (Opening crime scene.)
Officer: Couple in an apartment across the street heard some screaming and called 9-1-1.
Lennie Briscoe: Concerned citizens. Must be new in town.

    • NOTES (0)

    • ALLUSIONS (1)

      • Jack McCoy: A woman on Madison Avenue had her skull smashed in with a brick by a deranged homeless guy.

McCoy is likely referring to Nicole Barrett. Ms. Barrett was hit in the head with a brick while walking on Madison Avenue on November 16, 1999. She survived, but she required several operations and suffered permanent brain damage. Her attacker, Paris Drake, was eventually convicted of first-degree assault and sentenced to 25 years.
