I stopped watching Law and Order on a regular basis after Jerry Orbach left. When I do look at another episode, some of the stories don't make the grade anymore. This episode's storyline (and ultimate killer) was fairly predictable and the most of the actors look bored - especially those playing Bernand and Lupo (who looks more like a criminal than a detective these days!). And McCoy is given some self-righteous things to say to the DAs - even though the audience knows he has broken the rules more than most! Only the Rubinosa character is given any material to work with in this episode and it lifts the story to an average rating.moreless

Average episode tonight that was neither mind-blowingly spectacular nor disappointing. It had its moments, but the case was not too original, was very predictable, and there were not too many amusing jokes between Bernard and Lupo. With rumors running rampant that NBC will renew Law and Order for a landmark 20th season (tying Gunsmoke's record) you have to wonder why they are not stepping up their game this late in the stage.

The previews for next week look good, and I do not mean to dismiss this episode because it was decent, but we have all seen better, this season or previously.moreless

    • Cyrus Lupo: All right, Woodward and Bernstein. So you published this stuff even though you never talked to the guy who made the complaint? Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein were the two Washington Post reporters who broke the story of the Watergate scandal that ultimately led to President Nixon's resignation. They wrote a book about this called All The President's Men, which was made into a 1976 film starring Robert Redford as Woodward and Dustin Hoffman as Bernstein.
