    This episode is a crowd pleaser... the question of Mike and Connie- finally addressed very playfully within the context of a case. Spoilers: The writers bring a villain back and use him to the full- getting under the entire DA office's skin. Connie finds herself in the middle of the crossfire- both literally in a hotel and figuratively in the court room- resulting in situations where Cutter and Rubirosa have an uncomfortable heart to heart about "the birds and the bees" and later, Connie nails her 'co-conspirator' on the stand, resulting in a belly laugh for all and lots of smirking. Other than 'Strike', there are so few episodes that prominently feature Alana de la Garza or have the detectives engaged in a shoot out. For this and many other reaons- including Jonathan Cake playing one of the sleaziest lawyers ever- 'For the Defense' was one for the fans.moreless

    Very great episode from the beginnning to the end. The pigeon joke was strange, but nonetheless the whole episode was supberb. The plot was better than most past law and order plots of the new season. For a few moments I saw the rainey character, the prime suspect as unstoppable and very dangerous. As his hitman ambushed the law and order crew. The sly Marcus Woll also returns with vigor. It seemed that Mike and Connie couldn't crack the ever indestructible, villanous Woll. The episode also revealed a love triangle. I wasn't really a fan of this, but It did not ruin the episode for me. I hope Marcus Woll returns. I don't think we have seen him enough.moreless

    Law and Order has thrown everything and the kitchen sink at fans this season from a woman getting cancer, to an ADA confessing to aiding in murder to a possible romance between the two ADAs. No longer is this a show that is free of carrying over storylines, no, now Law and Order is building toward developing strong story arcs that are bringing the show back to prominence.



    While Nielsen ratings may claim that shows like Modern Family, Gossip Girl and Grey's Anatomy are what people my age group watch, I'm seeing more and more Law and Order and NCIS fans and less and less people watching The CW. I think people are seeing that in these trying economic times it is good to see the police in a positive light than rich people who know nothing other than how much of a Couture outfit costs.



    Do I expect any fallout from this Michael/Connie thing? No, but Law and Order is laying it all on the line in its record-tying 20th season and I for one have enjoyed nearly every episode because of that.moreless
