  • Very mediocre. Good potential plot and storyline, poorly executed.

This could have been a pretty good episode. Some good twists in the plot, some interesting characters and motives, etc.

However, poor dialog, direction and editting turned this into a dull mish-mash. Each twist, which could have been a surprise, instead plods along into the next. The players seem to be uninterested in their characters or the plot; they seem tired of the whole thing.

Dick Wolf has definitely taken his eye off the ball lately; perhaps he has labor problems?

Not much else to say, really.

After an actress is found dead in her apartment, Green and Cassady attempt to prove that her death was not a suicide.
  • Character development for Connie Rubisoa but Jack came off a jerk!

Good show as the cops and prosecutors prove that a

Hanging wasn't a sucide but a murder when a contruction

Company hiring illegal ailens may have been part of the murder plot. This I thought was a character development for the new ADA Connie. She isn't as pushy like other ADAs before her like Jamie Ross and sometimes Abbie Carmichael. But she is polite but firm like Claire Kincaid. Jack kind of was a jerk as he has usually been not that pushy lately.
  • Good episode for Rubirosa, not so good for minorities in general...

This episode was well done. The opening was memorable, the investigation good - Det. Cassady may even be improving- and the chemistry between the characters ( in this episode mostly volatile) certainly gave it some freshness. I was happy to see the new ADA get more screen time and attention than usual.

What I don't understand is why so many episodes are politically and racially charged these days- there are many twisted killers out there who don't have a controversial speech to give- but in terms of the case, atleast, none of these sidestories were complete deadends. All in all, I could see the events of "melting pot" having an effect on the rest of the season. If ADA Rubirosa abruptly quits or is fired, I don't think it will be quite as shocking as when Serena Southerlyn was outed... no puns intended.
