This episode has some wonderful legal twists: the murderer's guilty plea enables her to inherit a multi-million dollar estate, but then at the end McCoy hints that she will lose it all in a wrongful death lawsuit brought by the victim's son.

  In the episode's opening scene, Holland is talking on his cell phone about using former NHL star Mark Messier for a photo spread. Messier played for the New York Rangers when they won the Stanley Cup. Holland also mentions former hockey star Wayne Gretzky aka The Great One.
