  • A case of one body being in two places...

    8.0
This was an amazing story that contained strains involving the Sep-11 attacks. Lenny and Ed find a skeleton belonging to a woman that supposedly died in the Sep-11 attacks. Watching these two talk to people who knew the woman and having to broach the subject that she didn't die in these attacks, opened up many cans of worms! Slowly it becomes evident that she may have been killed beforehand and her 'hand' dumped in the vicinity of the attacked area to throw off suspicion of her murder. Her ex-lover is initially arrested but looks like getting off when a dubious witness is found to confirm that the girl did indeed enter the buildings that were destroyed. But suddenly the story veers towards the ex-fiancee who killed the girl and threw her hand in the bombed area and claimed the money allocated to grieving families! The acting by most of the principal cast is excellent as is the supporting cast and the story is very complex. Well done to all.moreless
  • A good episode and a fine example of why this show has been one of the best shows of the last 15 plus years.

    7.8
A good beginning, middle and end to what is a fine example of Law and Order - an involving story and in this case an emotionally involving story.

It was good seeing Briscoe and Green more in this episode as normally once the case is handed over to McCoy and Southerlyn you don't see them again till the next episode. I liked Lennie's appearance towards the end when the last piece of the puzzle was found and the case solved.

I love the humour in this show, and again it was well written. I liked the bits with the chocolate cake.

"The Ring" continues a fine season 13 so far.moreless

    • (The detectives question two boys about a victim's ring)
      Trinidad: What ring?
Lennie Briscoe: The one that man from the grocery store saw you put in your pocket.
Rodrigo: That son of a bitch. How did he see us?
      Trinidad: You, shut up!
Rodrigo: You didn't talk to the man, did you?
      (Lennie gives a smile)
Ed Green: Give it here, we'll be gone, no harm done.
Trinidad: You guys are cops, you are not supposed to lie.
Lennie Briscoe: (to Ed) How many times do I have to tell you that, detective?

    • Anita van Buren: Missing persons gave you anything?
Lennie Briscoe: There wasn't much on 20-year-old skeletons with one arm.

    • Ed Green: You wouldn't think someone who lived over here could pay 40 grand for a ring.
Lennie Briscoe: You know Watkins over in the 2-1?
Ed Green: That's the tall guy with the thing?
Lennie Briscoe: Yeah, six kids, two bedrooms in Queens, drives a Porsche to work every morning.
Ed Green: A Porsche I can understand but a ring?

    • Cynthia Mayberry: We trade in foreign currency.
Lennie Briscoe: What, I'll give you 2 drachmas for 10 yen?
      Cynthia Mayberry: Something like that.

    • Anita van Buren: You want to indict a man because of a dessert?
Lennie Briscoe: Well, it is a killer chocolate cake.

    • (Discussing cause of death with Briscoe and Green.)
Coroner: I doubt if it was an eating disorder, there was a lovely whammy to the head.

    • Arthur Branch: I may look like a stupid Southern lawyer but I've been in this town for over twenty years.
