Don Cragen: What about the kids?
Max Greevey: They're either innocent, or well-rehearsed.
Max Greevey: The family that kills together . . .
Sasha Osinski: (on the witness stand) Some of my money in the bank, yeah.
Ben Stone: Some? Now, the bank records show that there was, last month, $6,011,301.26.
Sasha Osinski: If you say so.
Ben Stone: And the month before that, $9,615.
Sasha Osinski: Sounds right.
Ben Stone: A six million dollar difference, uh ... good month at the discount store, sir?
Adam Schiff: A prosecution based on debt re-financing. That's going to get you real far with the jury.
Ben Stone: I'll lay it out for them. I'll draw them a Monopoly board.
Adam Schiff: Yeah, I'd like to see them get from 'Park Place' to 'Go.'

Max Greevey: He ain't heavy, he's my brother.
He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother was a hit song for the Hollies in 1970.
The title of this episode, The Serpent's Tooth, is taken from Shakespeare's King Lear (Act I, Scene iv): 'How sharper than a serpent's tooth it is to have a thankless child!'
This episode appears to be ripped from the headlines of the Lyle and Erik Menendez case. On August 20, 1989, the two brothers murdered their parents then went to the movies to give themselves an alibi. The two claimed they were driven to their crimes after years of abuse by their parents. Despite an excellent defense for Erik by Leslie Abramson, both brothers were eventually convicted and sentenced to life in prison.
