McCoy finds that his career is on the line when his former female assistant and ex-lover accuses him of forging evidence that helped put an innocent man in prison.
  • Aw, the cutest ending.

This was a very good episode. The plot was compelling, but I especially enjoyed the glimpse into Jack's past and personal life and how Claire stood by him the whole time. I liked the part where they were discussing what Claire would say about him ("Has Defendant McCoy ever withheld exculpatory evidence?") and I absolutely *loved* the ending. I love seeing Claire laugh, especially with Jack. :) I actually think the dynamic between the two of them is interesting just because it's unique. Even though the detectives throughout the years and the prosecutors have been close with each other (and in the other Law and Order shows too, CI and SVU) they usually don't laugh with each other and they usually don't touch each other. Jack and Claire break all these rules, which is interesting to see.moreless
  • An old case resurfaces, and Jack's old assistant/mistress ends up on the wrong side of the law.

    "Great"
This episode is important because it helps add credit to the Jack/Claire relationship. It proves Jack has had affairs with previous assistants. There is still some sexual tension lingering between Jack and Diana. Sadly its only a few episodes before the Jack/Claire relationship ends in "Aftershock".
This is also an example of "good guy gone bad". As a prosecutor, Diana Hawthorne lies and manipulates evidence to make a case against what turns out to be the wrong man. Jack knew nothing about this but Diana thought she was doing him a favor, since this was the case that lead to Jack's promotion.moreless
