      • Paul Robinette: (sarcastically) What, you're saying the computer virus appeared on your computer by magic? Defendant: Yes, Counselor, there is a tooth fairy!

      • Ben Stone: We had the kid dead to rights. Now we can't use any of the evidence, not even his name. Adam Schiff: I didn't know the Bill of Rights was written to make your life easier.

      • Computer Technician: D.O.D. Department of Doom, it's a local hacker gang. Best known for hacking into the Department of Sanitation's computer. Shut down garbage collection for two days. Lennie Briscoe: Probably took that long for anybody to notice.

      • Dr. Hogan: It isn't as if we do backroom abortions here. Diabetes is a disease, not a social issue.

      • Adam Schiff: Rock and roll gives me a headache. That doesn't mean I'm part of a conspiracy to kill John Lennon.

      • Lennie Briscoe: You sure he wasn't calling from Waco? This refers to the Waco, Texas siege of 1993, a 51-day standoff between government agents and members of David Koresh's doomsday cult, the Branch Davidians. The siege began after a gun battle that killed four government agents and six of Koresh's followers. On April 19, two days before this episode aired, the standoff ended when the Davidians' compound burned to the ground, killing 76 people including Koresh.

      • Detective Logan suggests that the clinic's insulin might have been contaminated intentionally, because, after all someone "could spike a bottle of headache pills." He was referring to the 1982 poisonings that became known as the Tylenol Murders. Seven people died after taking Tylenol that had been poisoned with cyanide and then returned to store shelves. There have been a few suspects over the years, but the case is still officially unsolved.

      • Dr. Elizabeth Rodgers: Unless these people were knocking on heaven's door to begin with. A quick reference to the song Knocking On Heaven's Door by Bob Dylan.

      • Mike Logan: Too much insulin, you wind up a permanent guest at the Sunny von Bülow rest home. On December 21, 1980, Sunny von Bülow slipped into a coma. Her friends and family have never known for certain if Sunny attempted suicide, or if her husband, Claus von Bülow, had tried to get his wife out of his life by injecting her with insulin. Although charged with the crime, Claus was declared not guilty in a court of law.
