Lawman (1958)

It was great seeing Peter Brown get some actual involvement. In the first four episodes that aired this week, two of them he wasn't in at all, and the other two he was barely in. His interaction with Iona was very cute, especially when she uses the parasol he bought for her to cover, so Dan and Lily couldn't watch them kiss. It's kind of funny, they won't let Dan and Lily make out, but Johnny gets all kind action. The story was very well done with Pa Beason wanting Ernie and Lester to turn themselves in, serve their time, and start over. The boys don't want to, and not long after burying Pa, they get into the shootout with Dan and Johnny. I'm not an expert on television history, but I kind of wonder if back then, they had a standards change in terms of what is acceptable. In the first two seasons, Dan and Johnny shot and killed people all the time, but in the recent episodes that I've watched they are just shooting them in either their arms or their legs. Oh, and I can't forget about Miss Lily. Dan needed to get Iona fixed up, and who better than the prettiest lady in Laramie. Lily was up to the big sister task, and the new look for Iona as I mentioned certainly got a certain deputy all excited.
