This was a very intense episode, and one that taught a valuable lesson at the end. Those old fellas trying to talk Johnny into a gunfight remind me of kids in school. Everybody had those in school, the kids who would try to get everyone else into fights. This was one of Peter Brown's best episodes. He does a great job conveying Johnny being worried about Barker's son coming to town to face him. Dan almost comes across like a father figure to Johnny, even though in real life there isn't that much of an age gap between John Russell and Peter Brown. Dan even offers to take Johnny's place in the "impending fight." I king of wonder if the ladies had some influence on the show back then, because I've noticed in the later seasons that they have John and Peter taking their shirts off more. The showdown was great with it turning out that neither man wanted to fight, and that Barker's son hated his father. The tension building up to it left me on the edge of my seat.moreless
