I don't know who gave this such a low initial score, because this was one heck of an episode. You have John Kemper, who resents his former daughter-in-law, because she killed his son. He completely disregards the fact that reason she killed him was because he had beaten her. Laurie's trying to start over, but his hired goons ran off her hired hand. She decides to get married again through an arrangement with Bill. She doesn't count on falling in love with him, but she does. She even goes to Lily to ask for her help in being more womanly, rather than dressing like a man. Bill goes to pick up supplies, and Kemper's goons beat him up, and then falsely accused him of going for gun. Dan checks and sees he's not wearing one. Meanwhile John is trying to work up the whole town against Bill and Laurie. By the time this episode was over I kept wanting to see someone really stick to that old man. Luckily, Johnny gets the chance. Johnny shoots him after John sets Laurie's place on fire. Then the whole town changes their tune, and decides to help them rebuild their house. It was awesome.moreless
