Owny O-Reilly is robbed while leaving Dan's office with the reward money by the governor's daughter, Millie. Later Millie and Owny meet and take a liking to each other. Owny even gets her a job with Lily at the Birdcage as a singer.
It was not quite as good as Owny's previous appearance, but it was still a really good episode. Joel Grey had great comedic timing, and did a really good job playing off all three of the show's stars especially John Russell. The first scene together where Owny is explaining to Dan about Sam and Jeremiah is priceless. I also love Dan's flabberghasted look when Owny says he was robbed less than five minutes after leaving the marshal's office. Owny falling for Millie was a cute romance story. Poor Johnny took a heck of a fall when Saunders made his escape. The visual of Saunders jumping off his horse and tackling Johnny off his horse was a great job of stuntwork. The ending was great to with Dan being the man with the plan of using the feud between Owny's dog and horse to save Millie after Saunders kidnaps her. Then of course they tease the audience a little more in the closing scene with Dan and Lily walking off arm and arm again after Dan agreed with Owny that woman is actually man's best friend.
