  • One of Lily's former flames, Galt Stevens, escaped from prison and found her in Laramie. She helped put him in prison, and he is out for revenge with a scheme based on a poem called, "Porphyria's Lover." Dan and Johnny are determined to watch over her.

This is the second episode of Lawman that I've seen that could double as an episode for Alfred Hitchcock Presents. It was a great psychological thriller with Lily's former boyfriend from her darker days coming back to stalk her, because she put him in prison. First, he drops the book of poems as one clue, then pops up in her bedroom, and then the poem she had written along time ago winds up on her breakfast tray. Yet, every time Dan and Johnny would come to investigate, they'd find nothing. The stormy weather really added to the mood of the story. Then it got too late, and Galt finally made off with her. I liked that they had Dan figure out that the poem was the key to the whole mystery. Then they get to the final confrontation, and instead of Dan taking him down, they let him pull Lily to safety, and Johnny put the smack down on him. Johnny crashing through the window, and tackling Galt was a great visual.
