It was great to see Peter Breck make a guest appearance. I enjoyed his work on Maverick as Doc Holiday. This time he plays the villain, and does it very well. He seems to enjoy riling people up, and then taunting them. It's actually an inventive story about him telling Dan to get the money together, or he'll never see the passengers again. Then you add the twist of cutting all the telegraph lines so they can't call for help. Johnny was unfortunately gone again, so Dan was flying solo. It's neat to watch his mind figure things out. You could almost see the wheels spinning in his head as he tries to get a read on Connors. I was kind of surprised he left Lily alone to wait on him while the townspeople voted. Some boyfriend. Luckily, nothing happened. Dan hiding in the wagon was something that could be seen coming a mile away. Hale planting those fake plague signs was a little bit of a letdown. He had been such a great villain, and then it turn out he was just a lying weasel.moreless
