Lawman (1958)

(Dan is explaining to Johnny why he let Bright go) Dan: Those old mountain men are all alike. You lock 'em up, and the first thing they do is die on you. Right off. (Johnny seems amused at this explanation.) Dan(looking at Johnny): What's funny? Johnny (shrugs, trying to look serious): Nothin', Marshall. Dan: Well, you grab a broom and sweep this place. It looks like a pig sty! Johnny: Yes, sir (picking up a broom and sweeping some, watching until Dan's back is turned, and then gives a great big smile, as he knows Dan's covering up for having a soft spot in his heart by being gruff)
