Tired of her husband Bull's behavior, Cassie Nickerson decides to run away with a kind, gentle peddler named Mr. Pennyman. Dan and Johnny know that Bull will hunt them down and kill them, so Dan convinces Bull to let him pursue a kidnapping charge first. However, after investigating, Dan finds out that Cassie left willingly. Dan convinces Cassie and Mr. Pennyman to come back to Laramie, and face Bull. To complicate matters, upon arriving back in town, Lily informs Dan and Johnny that Cassie is pregnant.moreless

    There were some great performances all around. It's kind of weird, because I was used to seeing Leo Gordon as the fun loving Irishman Big Mike McComb on Marverick, and here he plays quite the nasty individual in Bull Nickerson. Bull is essentially a bully. Peggy McCay plays wife Cassie, who has enough of Bull being a jerk, and treating her like garbage. Prior to finding out that she left, he was trying to convince Lily to run off with him. Thankfully Johnny was there to protect her. Considering how much bigger Bull is than Johnny, it showed a lot of guts for the kid not to back down. Dan also did a sly job here of doing what he could to make sure nobody got killed in this situation. Usually they have no problem with shootouts, but he made them settle it with their fists. I forget what the guy that played Pennyman's named is, but he did a good job of portraying the gentle giant. It was good to see him finally at Cassie's urging stop taking the beating from Bull and start dishing one out. Then when Bull tries to go for his gun, Dan was right there to take it away, and one of Bull's men started to draw, and Johnny whipped his out to stop him from interfering.moreless
