Welcome to the League of Gentlemen episode guide, local and non-local fans! Submissions are always encouraged. Please be aware of TV.com's policies regarding submissions, especially formatting. When submitting info, be sure to indicate in the comments section where you are getting your info from. I don't always require a URL link for confirmation; in most cases, simply listing the specific source is sufficient, though there will be times that a link to the source material will be requested if it is not provided. Always check the approved submissions for comments...there might be a minor problem with an approved submission that was corrected, but that doesn't mean I will always adjust persistant problems myself.
Always try to be accurate in your submissions, and use proper spelling, punctuation, and grammar. I'm editor of this guide, not editor of English 101. If there are any questions about a potential submission, please PM me first...I don't like rejecting submissions, so make sure they are valid submissions, in the correct section, accurate, and well-written. This is intended to be a guide that people can rely upon for concise, factual information.
Be aware of TV.com's definitions of Notes, Trivia, and Allusions. Basically, if it happens off camera, it's a Note. Don't bother sending in pointless Trivia submissions. No one cares if a character has a fork in his left hand in one shot, and then it's in their right hand in the next shot...sometimes I do this myself while eating. As far as Allusions go, do a bit of in depth research for the submission, don't just write that "this is an allusion to that"...explain what "that" is, and how it pertains to the episode. The key word here is "contribution"...make sure it actually "contributes" something to the guide!
There is a bit of confusion regarding the spelling of some of the characters' names. In most cases, the primary source to be used is the episodes (DVDs) themselves; then the official website; then other websites, etc. Be aware that the scripts on the official site have a few names spelled incorrectly, and the other fan sites have a good number of wrong spellings as well. I confirmed the spellings being used here by: 1) using the Local People feature on the DVDs, and 2) checking the subtitles (which, in theory, use the approved scripts.) A few of the often misspelled names are (shown in the correct spelling): Radclyffe Denton; Judy Levinson; Choque; Tom McQueen; Pebble; Tik-Tikk, Mr. Wint. There are others as well. Do not send submissions to change these names...if there are any questions about this, please PM me first.
Thank you, enjoy the guide, and be a contributor as well!!
