Episode Recap

Benjamin travels by train to Royston Vasey, where he will spend the night at his relatives' house and meet up with his friend, Martin, for a hiking holiday. Benjamin is annoyed by an old lady who looks over his shoulder and reads his Auntie Val's invitation letter aloud.

Martin has hiked into Royston Vasey and stops at the Local Shop to browse.

In town, Benjamin takes Bab's Cab to his relatives' house. Along the way, he gets to hear Barbara talk about dress shopping, female hormones, and details about the upcoming transgender operation.

Tubbs is curious about Martin, but becomes angry when he touches one of her Precious Things. Tubbs calls Edward downstairs and accuses Martin of stealing and being perverted with her. Martin just wants to quietly leave, but Edward won't let him out of the shop.

At the Job Centre, Pauline asks her group to name possible job options. All the jobs they suggest are written down, and Mickey reveals he has a job interview to be a fireman.

Benjamin arrives at his relatives' house, and quickly finds out that there are a lot of household rules to follow. Auntie Val shows him the key that opens the cabinet of other keys. Uncle Harvey shows him exactly where to place his shoes.

Mr. Chinnery makes a house call to euthanize Mr. Tinsel's ailing dog, Blacko. Unfortunately, he accidentally applies the fatal injection to Mr. Tinsel's healthy dog, Whiskey.

Back at the Job Centre, Pauline takes the group's skills into consideration and narrows the job options list down to babysitter and bramble picker. It's time for Mickey's job interview, but Pauline won't let him go, despite Ross's objections.

Auntie Val explains to Benjamin the rules regarding the scissors and the towels. Although Benjamin needs to go meet Martin, he endures Uncle Harvey's speeches about batrachianism and onanism.

Meanwhile, Geoff, Brian, and Mike are at Shebab's pub. Geoff is obsessed with jokes and insists that Brian tells Mike the Mau Mau joke, but keeps interupting and contradicting Brian as he does so. Brian gives up on telling the joke, and Geoff pulls out a pistol to force him to get to the punchline.

Benjamin finally gets out of the house, but Martin isn't at the town centre as planned. Mickey is hanging out there, playing with a toy fire truck, but he hasn't seen Martin.

The police find Martin's wallet in front of the Local Shop, and the bobby questions Tubbs about the missing hiker. Edward walks in wearing Martin's hiking gear (and Tubbs is wearing his hiking boots), but the couple claims they have not seen Martin. The bobby starts to leave, but Tubbs blurts out "we didn't burn him!" and the bobby is now suspicious.

The final scene shows Tubbs and Edward tossing the bobby's hat into a bonfire.
