In this episode. Wally, types a letter to Miss Canfield. On, a new portable typewriter. This, is the first, of three, typewriters, in the series. In episode #69 (Beaver's Newspaper). The boys, find an old upright typewriter. And, act like they'd never seen one before. In episode #185 (Beaver's Typewriter). Beaver asks his father for a typewriter, to help with his homework. In all three episodes neither Wally or the Beaver, ever really learn how to type.
Whitey Whitney (Stanley Fafara) is called Harold by Miss Canfield . This is the only time he is called by any other name besides Whitey until episode 232 entitled "Beaver Sees America" when he is called Hubert.
Miss Canfield: Beaver. Is that your given name? Beaver: Yeah, my brother gived it to me.
Diane Brewster, Burt Mustin, Stanley Fafara and Jeri Weil make their first appearances in their respective recurring roles of Miss Canfield, Gus, Whitey Whitney and Judy Hensler.
The opening credits for the first season show a drawn street map, listing the actors names and you can see Beaver's handprints in the wet cement.
The series is airing on Fridays.
