Brennidon was a superb episode of Legend of The Seeker and I really enjoyed watching this episode because there was a lot of character and plot development as we saw Kahlan performing her duties as a Confessor, Zedd with his own concerns, and Richard discovering his place of birth. I enjoyed the action, drama, intrigue, and over all production quality of this episode. I thought it was great how Richard stood up to protect the girl who was going to be executed and how he inspired the town. We learn more about Richards true heritage which is a surprise. I look forward to the next episode of Legend of The Seeker!!!!!!!moreless
  • Why even use this book and its characters?

    1.5
    "Abysmal"
What happened to the amazing storyline that made this series of books a fantasy classic? It has now turned into Richard, warrior princess. This episode seemed to be taken from one I have seen before in both Xena and Hercules. I simply do not understand why as the original story is gripping, exciting and completely original, which is incredibly difficult. It is obviously too difficult for the writers because it seems as though they have kidnapped my favorite characters and locked them in a typical sitcom! I understand that there are aspects to the story that are not appropriate for TV, but these changes are ridiculous! I suddenly am very afraid of the upcoming HBO series of my favorite series, "A Song of Ice and Fire"; then again, maybe I should have more faith in HBO...moreless
  • A crucial point in the story and the beginning of greater adventures for the Seeker.

Richard visits the village where his mother came from, as he accidentally finds his way towards it while hunting with some friends. Zed and Kahlan are away, so for the first time since he became the Seeker he is faced with a difficult situation all alone, and he has to use every resource he has in order to get away from it. The village is full of enemy troops, and the locals have completely succumbed to them. Richard has to be very careful not to be found out, since almost everyone would turn him in to save their village further trouble.
As he wanders in the village he finds a woman that he believes is his mother, as well as his half-brother, who turns him in at first to protect the village. richard manages to escape and eventually convinces his brother and the whole village that submission is not the answer, and that as painful or dangerous as it may seem, they need to discover strength in unison. All's well that ends well as the village resists the Daharans, they are eliminated and driven away, and Richard discovers that the woman isn't really his mother but his mother's midwife. For the first time he manages to gain the support of the people and to work through a difficult situation using only his wits, charisma and bravery.moreless
  • The series gains momentum with this episode capturing a full mini-story within the larger one.

    "Perfect"
The series gains momentum with this episode. The first few episodes had an enormous amount of setup. This is one difficulty in bringing books to film.

However, the last two episodes begin to capture key elements of the Legend in mini-stories. The search for truth in the Seeker and the essense of hope in the Legend emerge in each episode. This episode is the best of the series to date. Solid, believable plot. Good balance of action and story. Good selection of mini-story for this episode. This particular experience highlighted the cause/effect of difficult personal decisions. What would you do in "that situation"?moreless
