Walter was a superb episode of Legend of the Seeker and I really enjoyed watching this episode because the story was told in a narrative form and it had some great scenes. It was fun to watch Walter try to impersonate Darken Rahl and fool every one. The Daharan soldier helping Walter was an interesting character. I liked how all the story lines ended up intertwining in the end. Darken Rahl makes it back to the land of the living and he has plans to stay there. Richard and the gang continue their quest after saving Walter. I look forward to watching the next episode of Legend of The Seeker!!!!!!!moreless
  • Jumping the shark is always a difficult thing to do, and now Legend has done it. Bringing back a dead character is always risky and now we will see if it helps a floundering show or pushes it further into the abyss.moreless

The first season had a path for the characters. The season moved as you expected to a conclusion. This season it has wandered about, never really clear on where they were going say for a trying to find some stone of tears, yet not really fighting any "1" evil that was trying to stop them... well maybe you could say there was still "1" evil but it was a dead guys spirit which is kind of hard to see as a real threat beyond that of a ghost.

Now it appears that the producers realized that they needed a concrete villain, so they've decided to bring back the old one in the flesh. Great idea, if it works. The problem is it isn't clear that it will work this time. There is a good chance that the show simply needed a different direction instead of going backwards in time for Seeker versus Darken part II. Yet that is what we have. Hopefully they can pull it off... if not expect to see Seeker season 3 as the end. Its too soon to guess, it could go either way.moreless
  • Darken Rahl, alive and kicking again.

    9.0
Darken Rahl it seems is getting tired of being dead and wants to come back to the world of the living, and its benefits. He hatches a plan to bargain the scroll the sister of the dark stole from Richard and his gang for something very valuable.

Not to long while Rahl was still in power, one of his generals brought him a guy who looked exactly like Rahl, and had him trained to impersonate him, and on occasion stand in for him. After Rahl's fall, Walter as this guy was called and the general who brought him to Rahl hatch a plan to steal Rahl's stash of gold, and almost succeed but are stopped. The general escapes, but Walter is captured and imprisoned.

Rahl's spirit needs a body to inhabit and Walter is the perfect choice but before Rahl's minions can get to him, Walter manages to escape with the help of a servant girl and finds his way to Richard. Rahl appears to them and proposes his bargain but the only problem is that they will have to kill Walter to free his body so that Rahl can inhabit it. Fortunately Zed is able to switch Walter's body with someone else and then Rahl is brought back from the dead, who then brings the scroll back to Richard, but not before reading it himself. Richard obviously wants to do away with Rahl but before he can, Rahl tells him that if he does, he will just tell the Keeper what the scroll said, and all his efforts would be for nothing.

I am actually very excited now that Rahl's back with the living, and from the previews of the next episode, he doesn't want to leave. He was the one of the few reasons why Legend of the Seeker was exciting and I was actually loosing interest in this show but now I can feel the excitement building up again. As much as I want to side with good, Long live Darken Rahl.moreless
