Kel has to find another purpose in life if he wants to pick himself up.

Okay now I've seen the previews... Supe's doesn't show any signs of K-posioning when his casket is burning up near the sun. And a hint from the Superman homepage website forums "We all know what happens when Superman's lifesigns stop" makes me believe Supe's isn't dead. On that note... All I can come up is the old comic book trick - speeding up your heart until all anyone machine will here is nothing comes to mind. I believe Flash used it in JLU.

    :
I am also starting to suggest that Kel might be able to help Superman, but might give up his life in the process. That is what I believe his other purpose is, to save Superman. But I hope I am wrong. I do think that Kel should do something to save Superman. But I hope Kel-El won't die. I think Imperiex getting destroyed was actually meant to happen. I think it is going to teach Kel-El that there is more to fight for.

Well, I always thought that two Superman were too many. As I said before, if they wanted someone with Superman's powers and a lot of angst, they should get Mon-el.

But the idea that Kel might die -- I didn't think of that. It would be very, very sad, but, since they're clones, maybe he'll have to give up his life so Clark can live.

I mean -- Superman can't die. In his own time, they don't even know him yet. He has to be able to go back to the past, because wouldn't that mess up the Legion's time? He would never have existed. I always thought that was a big risk he was taking, in the comics, every time he went to the future.

Well, the 2nd season's Superman was more "experienced."

Gee, Superman's dead. What AGAIN? And no Doomsday in sight.

You guys going to keep him dead so you can replace him with Superclone? Even if the TV show's being cancelled?

Maybe so Superclone can have his own TV show?

After all, he's so much "better" than the original. Nastier. Crueler. Less of a boy scout. More "realistic". Harder to tell from the bad guys. Immune to the remarkably conventent to the plot Green K.

I hope that works out for you, if you actually do it, which would NOT surprise me at this point.

Trying to "lose" the last remaining members of your loyal fan base?

I reckon that if the sun doesn't restore Supes' powers, then the only option might be to transfer his mind into Kel's body... though that would be really disturbing.

So I watched it again, and it just keeps getting more and more disturbing.

The way Brainy puts the crown on Supes never fails to make me shiver. The whole monolog about the "King of Weaklings" is definitely some of the best writing in a DC toon.

Also, the Vi scene is enhanced by the fact that if you listen closely, you can hear her gasping for air on the ground.

Well, I'm a fan of both Brainy and Vi.

That's one brutal pimp slap. *cringe* Vi didn't even have time to react. The doors to Brainy's quarters opened then--SMACK!! Brainy hit Vi so hard, I thought he cracked her skull.

I have to say that this episode far exceeded my expectations. I hope the second half will live up to the fantastic first half. I'm still reeling at the ruthlessness of Evil Brainy. Villainy at its finest.

    No, I don't hate Superclone.

I'm just old fashioned enough to prefer heros who are actually heroic.

Not hate-filled, revenge-fueled I -wouldn't- trust -this -clown -if- I -were -you types.

the ones who in some episodes even they aren;t sure if they are good guys or bad guys.

All I can say it, it was intense. My mom and I watched it together, and I had to explain quite a bit to her, such as the nature of Brainiac, and why there are two Supermen. Brainiac also plays a major role this season on SMALLVILLE, another show we both enjoy, and I had to explain why there are so many differences in the two interpretations (besides that James Marsters probably doesn't wish to shave his head and wear green makeup). I described Brainiac as a "very sophisticated computer virus", which is simplifying it quite a bit, I know, but she's not the comic buff I am, and it's rather hard to boil down come 50-odd years of retcons, evolutions, and upgrades in two minutes.

Is anyone else getting a STAR TREK feel from the previews for the second half? Remember the movie where Spock dies, and they send his coffin into space with that whole eulogy by Capt. Kirk, and then he comes back like two movies later?

Okay, Brainy, we get you're evil now, but why push Shrinking Violet down like some playground bully? I have to agree with the others: somehow that was almost worse to witness than Superman's "crowning".

Brainiac's Silver Age honeycomb skull ship makes its second appearance in animation; it was last seen in the S:TAS/STATIC SHOCK crossover.

So Brainiac will do what I've feared he would all along: upload himself into the Coluan hive mind and infect the whole planet like a spyware bot. Presumably all the Coluans posses dormant 1.0 data; if their firewalls are overridden, I imagine the whole planet turns into Sodom and Gomorrah.

    Yes indeed.

I thought he had, too. I was like, O_o Ouch. DX I wanted to pick her up and be all weird like "Vi! Speak to me! Call an ambulance!"

    I worship the last paragraph.

I think we all did..I think we all did.

See what makes it disturbing is that, Brainy and Supes have been tearing it up all season So we knew something was going to go down between them, and that it WOULD be bad. Vi wanted nothing more than to be Brainy's friend *cough* and girlfriend *cough* and the fact that Brainy didn't even say a word to her before he hit her just destroys everything she tried to build. Ugh! Such a Vi fanboy! *Watches video*

So you mean that Coluan race will be subjected to random visions of porn as the thought of PWNED flashes through their collective mind.

I absolutely agree! Personally, I thought the most brutal aspect was that Vi was totally insignificant to Brainy. (Poor Vi! ) When Timber Wolf was in a similar situation in Cry Wolf, Wolfie snapped out of his rage once he realized he had injured Phantom Girl. I thought Brainy would've at least had a moment when he felt some kind of remorse for injuring Vi--but, nope ... nothing. That's why I wonder if it's true that Brainy doesn't really "feel" emotions but that his emotional responses are simulated. Once, the B1 programming kicked in, it seems that Brainiac 5's "feelings" was turned off like a light switch.

The reason I'm really mourning is because we will never hear Vi's giggle snort again.

It was geeky, yet kinda cute.

    Ahem. A quote from Superfreak5000

"I can't envision Brainy physically smacking down Violet but more to his nature, he might give her a verbal slap across the face."

LOL! Heck, yeah! The shock of Brainy smacking Vi still hasn't worn off. I never knew he had that kind of brutality in him.
