Lens On Talent: a Filmmakers Challenge

Show Summary

Lens On Talent: a Filmmakers Challenge is a reality show competition to find the best of the best up and coming African American filmmakers. Hosted by Kim Fields, and sponsored by Johnson and Johnson, this inspiring program looks to uncover hidden talent in the African American community, and is searching the United States to find it. From hundreds of submissions, the show selects the most promising and unique of the bunch to showcase for the chance of a lifetime; the winner gets a 100,000 budget to produce their own film. Seemingly every subject is touched in the wide array of quality films submitted, from unexpected pregnancy to life on the streets, anything and everything creative minds can dream up. And not only is the audience given first peek at the marvelous mini movies themselves, but Fields sits down with the filmmakers and probes their brain, hoping to get a free lesson from a future master. As well, the gracious host is given the chance to interview working people in Hollywood, from actors to producers. And for fans that want more, the BET website is loaded with web extras in addition to the short films and full episodes. Lens On Talent: a Filmmakers Challenge is an excellent program, sure to produce a name to be heard over and over.moreless
