  • It's like a breath of fresh air. Absorbing, funny, and with great characters.

I really enjoy watching this show. It makes me smile.

Leverage has a great mix of characters and the choice of actors is fantastic. The characterisation and stories are interesting, funny and you can't wait to watch how everything is going to unfold. It's a clever premise too - although the whole Robin Hood idea is not the most original, the good vs. bad, justice vibe plus the great characterisation grabs you and you're more than happy to go along for the ride. This combination gives the show's creators an almost endless stream of possibilities for story lines. I hope that the current standard continues. As long as it does, I'll keep watching.

Season 5: July 15th!!! StarCam was just on the red carpet for College Television Awards and we got a great interview with Leverage stars Beth Riesgraf, and Aldis Hodge. Beth talks about how she got her start in Hollywood. Aldis talks about shooting the 5th season of Leverage, and his favorite Hollywood "Cougars". We wanted you to have a heads up, since you are such a big fan. Check it out on our YouTube channel (StarCam Celebrities), or follow the links. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xqtzf4Eo7Oo or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b0GlbBfGLZ0

  • One of the best shows on tele

    "Perfect"
Leverage truly is one of the best shows to watch. The interaction between the actors is great, they play off one another very well and it works tremendously in their favor. My wife and I watch it without fail every Sunday evening. In today's world of reality and junk television, it is nice to have something worthwhile. Leverage makes you think about what is happening, you do not just sit there in a vegetative state as you do with reality shows. The intricacies of the actors and their characters is worthwhile watching. I hope the show does not get canceled as so often happens with shows from the big three networks. The writing captures your mind and hooks you into the plot, making you think of how they will do the job they are on.
  • A program worth watching

    9.5
    "Superb"
In these times of reality TV it is good to have a program worth turning the TV on to watch. I have really enjoyed this very short season of Leverage. I'm all ready to watch the next season. Keep up the good work and don't go messing with the programming. You have a formular that works, so don't go changing it!!!!
  • Leverage is alienating and losing watchers

    "Terrible"
Leverage is not available "free" with advertising on the Internet, unlike almost all shows. So we will watch something else. Do they really want to have peole stop watching on their Internet devices and Internet-connected TV's, or force people to DVR their show and skip the advertising? Stupid, backward people.

Its pretty bad that you can't even watch this show any more online unless you subscribe to one of the cable units. I have brighthouse there not on the list. What is wrong with this picture. I can watch all the other shows on line with no problem but TNT make things difficult for fans. I mean really!!!!!
  • Nice Show, I LOVE Parker!!!

    10
    "Perfect"
This show is very cool, I like the character development among the cast, as they try and work with each other, they develop into a family of sorts. I love the chemistry between Nate and Sophie and how Parker is falling for Hardisson but, doesn't know how to express it...

...plus Parker is a sexy thief...she had the best one liners or dead pan deliveries =D
  • So I started to watch this whow a few years back, but by some reason I cannot even remember stopped after the first season. x

Why am I asking myself now, since this has turned into one of my favorite shows this season. Hardison and Parker are just too cute and Gina Bellman is such a funny actress. The combination of drama and humor with that extra spice of a satisfactory vengeance makes this a winner.

  • A great and intelligent show!

    10
    "Perfect"
To be honest, it took me some time and some episodes to really get into "Leverage". I guess part of it was, that I was quite a bit biased towards Timothy Hutton. He's a great actor, really intense, but I had only seen him in tragic roles before and I just couldn't imagine, that he actually could be funny as well. Well, I was wrong! He really has a great timing for humour and he's wonderful in both the more amusing and the more tragic scenes. Christian Kane playing Eliot and Beth Riesgraf as Parker didn't get to me right away either, I needed some get them to know them better to see how great and subtle they really are in their acting and how elaborate their roles have been written, in no way reducing them to "slightly sociopathic madwoman" and "pretty face womanizer dull bully". I totally loved Aldis Hodge playing Hardison from the very first moment though. He's really believable in his role as computer geek and he's got something incredibly intelligent about him and I think it's one of the great merits of this show, that an African-American actor has been cast for this role totally against every cliche. Talking of breaching cliches: The Mastermind is an alcoholic, The Hitter actually isn't only just a fighting machine but very sweet, considerate and smart as well and there is the wonderful chemistry slowly turning into a romance between Parker and Hardison (other than in Brithish shows, you hardly ever see a relationship like that between two people with different colour of skin in US-American shows) and my most favourite part about not following stereotypes is, that there is this band of crooks, who had been used to work on their own, to just take what they wanted to for their own selfish reasons, finding a conscience and a heart inside themselves, helping out people in need. I just love, when a show provides so much you wouldn't be expecting at primetime really.

"Leverage" is some kind of "Ocean's Eleven" meets "The A-Team" meets "Robin Hood" (I just love, how in the opening Nate says "The rich and powerful they take what they want. We steal it back for you", now, how great is that! :)) and that's a mixture that provides the right amount of humour, intelligence, action, social issues and tragedy for me.

Wow, this is a long review, sorry for that. I'm going to stop here right away since I've got some further catching up of -- you might have guessed it -- "Leverage" to do. Can't wait!
  • Timothy Hutton was not terrible, after that it is tough to say anything positive about the remainder of the cast and the writing. With shows like 24 and Mad Men, the ante has been significantly upped. Leverage needs to fold fast...

    2.0
    "Terrible"
The character dubbed as the muscle was absolutely unbelievable, unless of course we are watching Heroes. The tech guy is a direct copy of Will Smith, but no where near as good. The accent on the front woman grifter was tres terrible, where was she supposed to be from???? And are we supposed to believe she was that hot, that men would swoon over her… The blonde's character was not developed what so ever. Finally the writing was incredibly predictable. Too bad, maybe if the entire writing team is revamped and some change outs with the actors, the premise is a good one.
  • So far, so inadequate Mission Impossible wanna-be. But it has potential.

    6.0
    "Fair"
I like to suspend my disbelief in the name of a good action show as much as any TV fan, but so far, Leverage is stretching it too far. My least favorite scene in the pilot involved the super-brilliant team leader, faced with the need to create a diversion, choosing to smash a bunch of car windows on a busy down-town street in broad daylight. And then, ten minutes or so later, he's still hanging around, and there are no cops or crowds or car alarms, just like nothing happened. Lame. And, he's supposed to be good? Did he leave a bunch of notes?

On the plus side, pretty actors, and an attempt by the writers to give them each an interesting backstory and group dynamic. Their one common feature is, none of them plays well with others, so plenty of opportunities for cheeky banter. Also, high production values and somewhat engaging endless plot twists. So far, I'm still on the fence, but hopeful the writers will hit their stride soon, because I'd love to see a worthy successor to the brilliant MI series.
  • Could be worse. great premise VERY weak script poor dialogue with so many cliches. acting is a little overboard at times. needs to buckle up or ship out

    5.5
    "Mediocre"
i think the show has potential , but the script is very light! the characters are a cliche of every robbery movie out there and they dont do a great job. the premise is good but they slacking off just on that alone. with other great shows out there tthe writers need to buckle up and tighten the scripts too many loose ends.

something about the meld of all their scenes just doesnt seem right. the flashbacks jus annoying and doesnt futher understanding. doesnt make me wanna tune in week in week out

I honestly cant believe the folks giving this show a 10! get real guyz. this is heading for cancellation in my opinion
  • Intelligent, well played and highly enjoyable.

    8.5
    "Great"
Good pilot - nice setup for the show. Smart lines, well delivered, a bit too much jerked, 'music-video like' camera movements - sometimes it made me dizzy. I liked the small 'presentation' video of each of the main players. Timothy Hutton plays a great straight man - reminds me of his "Nero Wolfe" character. Alec is a convincing enough geek, Eliot is a convincing enough soldier, Parker plays a convincing enough psychopath and Sophie plays an awful actress (the theatre scene was really bad, cringe worthy - she is a good actress to play it sooooo badly).

As for the episode, it was a nice, straight forward good versus bad play, where the good guys get their payback. The end part was a bit too ... cheesy, felt more like a parody of "Godfather" reversed. I would definitely like to see more.
  • New series with a good premise, but lacking in some areas.

    6.5
    "Fair"
The plot and mood of the series is very Ocean Eleven like, with your group of criminals who tend to steal from the bad, give to the good, and skim off the top. I have been looking forward to a good series like this to come out ever since the series Heist( a very similar show) got discontinued only after a few episodes. The series is definatly promising, however the film lacks strong acting, and/or directing. On the other hand, these days it seems like the series with bad acting and directing (i.e. C.S.I, NYPB Blue, etc..) stay on for seasons after seasons.. No offense to people who enjoy those shows... But the acting is horrible, its like they film the whole season in just a few days, rush through each episode just to make a new one. Sorry, I like my shows planned out, with good acting, and beautiful cinematography... Like how the FOX network does all of their series, even if its a show you dont really care for, you can bet they have the best acting, and cinematography. Ugh... sorry- I usually dont review movies, but I just watched the pilot and there is soo much promise there. The acting will be the only downfall.
  • Here's a series that comes hard out of the gate, makes sense, engages the viewer and let's you enjoy with out feeling like you have wasted time. And yes I am talking about a TV show!

    9.5
    "Superb"
Rich characters, great story writing. You are engaged from the moment the show starts and the only thing you will feel like is, disappointment that you have to wait a week to watch the next episode. This series some how slipped under our radar until we watched it on NETFLIX now we will own every season on DVD and will watch every chance we get. The whole family, from our youngest at 6 to the eldest in high school, each one wants it on.

Try to find another show like that....well there's JAG, NCIS the original...hmmm not much else.
  • What can I say about this show? I just love it!

    10
    "Perfect"
This show is amazing, the plot is great, the actors too. I just went through all episodes, one is never enough.

What I love about this show are the five different personalities, different backgrounds, different ways to look at the world. Strangers that come together and become a team, a family.

I love every single character but my favorite is Parker. Her way to look at the world, seeing her change from episode to episode. I think she is one of the characters that most evolves, the one that bit by bit lets someone new back in, allows herself to care for someone else.

I'll admit she is a bit strange but that's what makes me like her most, the same fact.

I hope you love this show as much as I do, can't wait for the next episode!
  • Perfect.

after movies like "the italian job" and "ocean's 11-13" im surprised it took this long for a show like this to come along. Well, it was worth the wait, the cast and characters are incredible. They play off each other very well and bring something new to the table. They really do feel like a family, dysfunctional, but nevertheless a family. The writing is funny, quick and has a different feel to it for each character..much like in life. Theres nothing worse than a show where although the writing may be smart and funny each character acts the same way. Well theres no problem like that with Leverage. I recently started watching the show and i started from the beginning and every episode has only made me want to watch the show more and more. This show is a gem and i can only hope it sticks around and gets any and all recognition t deserves.
  • A shameless, intriguing Robin Hood rip-off

    8.8
    "Great"
Leverage is a brilliant, intelligent, and memorable show that keeps you interested throughout an episode. The characters are intriguing, and the perspective of thieves being good guys is interesting.

Nate, the mastermind, is vital because his occasional drunkenness is what makes the show's plot unpredictable. Sophie is an entertaining "grifter," and Elliot is a dry-humored tough guy. My two favorite characters are Parker and Hardison. Parker's mix of quirkiness and brilliance provides much of the humor. Hardison's quick-witted comments and nerd-like behavior also makes up some of the comedy in the show. These aren't A-list actors, but the acting isn't bad enough to distract you from the plotline, and it gets better later in the series.

The plot of each episode is quick and exciting; each episode makes sure to provide you that Ah-ha! epiphany moment. All in all, this show is good; can't wait to see how the rest of season three plays out!
  • The characters make the show awesome.

    10
    "Perfect"
This is a fantastic con show produced by John Rogers and Dean Devlin. The show is about a group of thieves turned to the side of good by a somewhat broken ex-insurance investigator (Nathan Ford), played by Timothy Hutton. The cast of characters is truly what makes this show what it is. Christian Kane plays the Hitter (Eliot Spencer) in a role that was designed for him. He does a fantastic job creating the surly character that protects the team from coming to any harm, yet can still make dinner afterward. Aldis Hodge plays the Hacker (Alec Hardison) who is your typical funny geek and younger brother of the bunch. Beth Riesgraf plays the Thief (Parker), and she is the funny yet crazy character who can and will steal anything. Finally Gina Bellman plays the Grifter (Sophie Deveroux). She can con her way into any office building with the right dress and wink of her eye. All five of the characters of Leverage form a family dynamic that makes the viewer root for their success. It truly is a dysfunctional family made up of the best thieves in the world. They also have so much fun doing what they do, that you want to jump right in there and join them in conning the bad guys.
  • If they remade the A-Team...

    8.5
    "Great"
Seriously this is like the A-Team, the English chick is Face, Parker is Murdock, Nate is Hannibal, and the other 2 together make up Mr T (with some computer skills thrown in to update it to modern). With the major difference being they don't complete every mission by turning something into a tank. It might be simple but its a winning formula and I'm enjoying it. I pity the fool who don't like Parker.

Don't expect too much out of it (much like the A-Team) and you will find this to be one of your new favorites to watch, even at a guilty pleasure level.
  • Promising first season

    8.0
    "Great"
This show has a bunch of misfit criminals, each with a distinct skillset that form a team that does long cons on bad guys to rectify/redress some of their unconscionable crimes and swindles. A way of making the world better, and therapy for some of the wounds they all have from their own pasts, most seeming to have been victimized one way or another, and make some profit in the progress. Fun to watch how the swindles work. Timothy Hutton is great as the patriarch of this band of merry thieves - and his character's little trouble with alcohol dependency adds a nice layer of grittiness and fallibility (thus less predictability) around his character and the outcomes of their capers. Aldis Hodge as Alec Hardison though is the shining light in this series - he is so funny he often makes me laugh out loud, and the guy is just so impressive to watch. I hope they continue on the trend of the last quarter of the season in which they made things more complex, less formulaic, and the team dynamics got fleshed out quite a bit. Looking forward to it!!
  • Modern day Robin Hood

    7.5
    "Good"
No doubt inspired by the sucsess of Ocean 11, a group of tv-shows arrived taking on thiefs and grifters. While shows like Thief, Heist and others didn't manage to survive, Leverage is midway into 2nd season.

The idea is fairly simple. Take a group of thiefs, each with indiviual strengths like hacking and muscle, and group them together helping people.

I like the idea, but have problems with a couple of the characters and alot of problems with the way they try to hard to be funny.

It's still among the better shows I watch as easy entertainment. Mostly maybe because I got a thing for the genre. It's usually more fun watching the crime, than the solving.
  • Some times the bad guys are the best good guys. A gang of ex-criminals are recruited to be the modern day robin hoods providing retribution to thoses hurt or robbed by those who have all the power who take what they want and give nothing back.

    10
    "Perfect"
The show has it all action, romance and fullfills all the cliche's. Think Hustle but a lot, lot , lot more exciting. There is comedy and exciting with great characters that you soon love including Christian Kane most likely best known for playing "Lindsy" in "Angel".

Leverage gives it's audiance everything it's got. With great writing, great acting everything a TV show needs. All this keeps your full attention on tv, laptop or phone screen. This show is a must watch for anyone who loves TV or just someone who has 43 miniutes free and wants to kill time. If you can't find time to watch, MAKE TIME or MAKE AN EXCUSE.
  • My New Favorite!

    9.0
    "Superb"
OMG I thought the previews were just going to be a tease but it's even better. We have a great all around cast and after just a few episodes, I am totally hooked and look forward to every week. I think it's a combination of Robin Hood meets Ocean's Eleven, but better. The bad guys actually want to use their colorful not so legal skills for good. What a concept. We have Nate, our team leader and brains. Sophie, the resident grifter and I think mother hen. Thrown into the mix you have Elliott the brawn, Parker our thief and the computer genius Hardison. This will be a permanent got to set the DVR for, this way I don't miss a week.
  • Nate Ford and his "band of thieves" stand up for the little man. Alone, each member is talented, but together, they make up a fantastic team.

    10
    "Perfect"
This show is really very good. Each member of the team has their own unique set of talents and strong suits, and when they work as a team they can do so much more. I really like the fact that each of the characters are unique and I feel like this show is different from other shows out there. They all work well together, but there are the occasional rifts. In the end, though, they manage to help the little guy. One of my favorite quotes in the show is when Elliot is talking to his old high school sweetheart and she tells him that she is "happy he finally found a family." I think thats a good way to think of the team. All-in-all, I am definitly a fan.
  • Bottom line, there isnt any other show out there like it.

    10
    "Perfect"
Wheres the cops or the FBI agents you usually see in every other show? There isnt any which is awesome. Finally a crime show, but without the usaual "we have to go through evidence to find the killer" that actually takes forever in real life. I love the show because somebody can actually be out there doing something like helping people with the financial problems or just any other problems.

The team is of an Honest man, Grifter, Theif, Hacker or the Geek, and the guy who can kick butt. A Good collection that keeps me watching the show every week.
  • From the people who know Drama, TNT, Leverage is a high energy show with an interesting cast. A good guy recruits four bad guys to overcome what is wrong in the world. The line between good and bad is not always so straight.

    9.0
    "Superb"
An enjoyable cast that begins with Timothy Hutton born of industry parents and awarded with Oscars and Golden Globes. Timothy plays Nathan Ford a good man that was wronged by the big corporation he worked for. He is now working to right as many of those wrongs as he can by recruiting people he knows have the skill to get around the conventional way of doing things.

The rest of the cast Gina Bellman(the actress/con-artist), Beth Riesgraf (ultimate thief), Christian Kane (the muscle), and Aldis Hodge (the computer brain) are all recruited for their special talents.

The characters have all become more developed as the first season has progressed and each has its own interesting weaknesses and foibles. Even though the series initially has been a little uneven the stories are interesting and the dialogue is down right clever at times.

The main character Nathan does seem to have an agenda of some sort and it is pretty obvious that we will see what happens when all of that comes to light. In the meantime you get the feeling that the characters, all former loners, are getting a tremendous amount of satisfaction from their partnership together. A winner. Great cast and an enjoyable show. I look forward to watching this for many years.
  • I don't need alot of characters to describe this show. It is fantastic!!! I LOVE THIS SHOW!!

I think this show is absolutely terrific and look forward anxiously each week for each episode! It is original and Timothy Hutton is really fantastic and I always loved him as an actor and I am so glad to see him back in the public eye!! And that one guy with the long hair, well he just gives me heart palpitations!!! I'm lovin that eye candy big time!!

I love the storylines and the way they stick it to the bad and greedy big guys that screw over us little guys! Great show, hope it stays on for many, many seasons!!!
  • An honest man gets together with several criminals that are at the top of their game. To form a agency to help the poor and downtrodden.

    10
    "Perfect"
I love this show. It has the right mix of comedy and action that The Closer is severely lacking. The Sting meets Mission Impossible comes to mind when thinking about this show. There are many shows with large cast that could lose cast members and work fine. This shows cast is perfect. Alec Hardison, a decidedly confident intelligent smooth talking hacker. Parker is a death defying Lara Croft like cat burglar. Eliot Spencer is a martial artist skilled in all ways of violence but refuses to use a gun. Sophie Devereaux is a terrible actress but a great con-woman. finally there is Nathan Ford an honest former insurance investigator now leader of this team. Each character while perfect at their craft has a flaw that makes them extremely interesting and funny. Many shows try to get the cast to gel as a whole. This show succeeds. I truly believe in the short time that these characters are really starting to care about each other. The Villains that the Leverage team go after are truly sick. This makes watching them get caught very satisfying. Greedy corporate CEO, Evil HMOs, Dirty Cops, etc. TNT has a true winner on its hands with Leverage.
  • First off let me come out and tell you that this is my very first series I have watched from the networks TNT and TBS. I thought shows that came out in those networks were boring and uninteresting and I was very wrong. Leverage helped me figure that out.

    9.5
    "Superb"
When I first watched Leverage I thought is was an interesting show but it didn't catch my eye that quickly. Over the next few weeks I got more and more interesting in it until the last three episodes. I was so amazed by how interesting it was and how unique Leverage was. The characters were very different, humorous, and unique. The story lines each had a good point and the drama was very good. The characters past were very interesting and they help us understand who they are. The fact that TNT made criminals look like normal, nice, and helpful people was also another great part of it. Leverage was a great and unique show and I hope it goes far.
