Leverage "The Broken Wing Job" Review: Sick Day

"The Broken Wing Job" was a really well-constructed episode that showed us a side of Parker we hadn't seen before.

  • Episode Summary

Parker stays behind when her leg is injured and she's stuck in the brew pub. However, she soon finds something to do when she spots two thieves in the pub casing the jewelry store across the street, and recruits a waitress to help her.

    • A clever title goes here!

is it weird that my favourite little detail that i picked up on from repeated viewings was Parker's prescription bottle that only had "Parker" on it? Like Portland doctors have just accepted her only having one name like Pink or Rihanna? Maybe it's just me...
    • wrong title

I can see where the producers got the title they used, but since obviously it's a take off of Hitchcock's Rear Window, it should've been called Parker's Rear Window caper
    • puhleese- run out of plots????

What happened to the team?? Yeah- Parker is cute but really only in relation to the others. She's not strong enough to carry the whole show. Tedious.

    • parker rules!

loved this episode. was expecting another formulaic episode. pleasantly surprised it isn't so. the twist at the end made this episode all the more sweet! my favorite series right now. more power to the leverage team!

    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    • TRIVIA (1)

    • QUOTES (3)

      • Eliot: Told you there was a ninth guard.
Nate: Yeah, yeah, I owe you a beer.

      • Eliot: How's the knee?
Parker: Ah, driving me to Crazy Town. Pretty much like it's on cruise control. Cruising me through Crazy Town. And you know what, let's face it. I have way too much to do. This knee, this knee, I need to be on a bullet train through Crazy Town. I don't have time to stop at a museum, get gas...
        Eliot: Parker, breathe.

      • Parker: Just think of it as more charity work.
Amy: Okay, but my other charity work doesn't involve having a gun pointed at me.
Parker: Exactly, that's what I'm saying. Oh, you meant that as a bad thing.

    • NOTES (1)

    • ALLUSIONS (3)

      • Hardison: Did you just quote Heat?
Referencing the 1995 crime drama that features police detective Lt. Vince Hanna hunting down a gang of professional thieves and trying to stop them before they commit their next heist.

      • Parker: But no BJ and the Bear, and no reality-dating shows.
Referencing the NBC series that ran three seasons (1979-1981) and featured B.J. McKay and his pet monkey "Bear." Cashing in both the trucker craze and the popularity of The Dukes of Hazzard, BJ and his Bear traveled across the country for the first two years, going up against crooked sheriffs, and then settled down in LA to run a trucking company.

      • Parker: Except Beauty and The Geek. I like that one.
Referencing the CW reality series (2005-08), which has (mostly) beautiful women and intellectual guys paired off and completing in contests challenging each one in the other's strengths. It proved so popular that other international versions were produced.
