"The Long Way Down Job" had a lot of potential, but I feel that they really dropped the ball with this episode. Not enough focus on the mountain, the altitude, the avalanche, things like that, and too much attention on the intricacy of the con. People watch CSI for those details, but with Leverage we already know we're going to get the explanation at the end so I'd rather see some innovative things along the way than a structured plot.

It wasn't just that they misused the mountain as the con itself was pretty dull. I'm glad to have Leverage back after six months on hiatus, but this was a disappointment. Too CBS for my liking, and not as fun and light-hearted as I had hoped for.moreless

Season Premiere of season 4. Whilst some episodes have seemed to be stupid or just had some aspect of them that are totally unbelievable this episode had none of it and touched the heart of veiwers.

Sophie had a hard role of playing like 5 different parts and wasn't able to change outfits or anything and did an outstanding job. As for Hardison, he did an amazing job under difficult circumstances.

What really touched me was Eliot's speech to Parker when they were trapped. It was a nice speech and he seeemd genuine about it all. "It makes us... us." and he was right in syaing that the others would have kept trying and frozen to death.

Parker seemed to have a change of character and seems a lot more grown up and in tune with the world - she's developed and grown as a character and it was nice to see it reflected in this particular episode, with her speech about doing the right thing.

The only thing I didn't really like - was the fact that Nate was staggering around like he was drunk - I just thought it was a little bit over the top, even though I know what altitude sickness can do to someone.

The ending was really nice - the team back together, having dinner as one. A really nice ending - and the thing about the bugs was a great lead into the season.

All in all, a very strong, positive start, and can not wait for the next episode!!moreless

    • Hardison: (hugging Eliot) I was just so damn cold.
      Eliot: I don't care, man.
Hardison: Please set me on fire or something. I'm all shivering, and I think one of my nipples fell off, 'cause the sensation...
Eliot: Man, don't tell me stuff like that!

    • Eliot: (to Nate) You're very good at what you do, but you can't con a mountain.

    • Nate: Okay, Parker, listen, you can climb a mountain, right?
Parker: I climb skyscrapers. You can walk up a mountain.
Eliot: It's not the same. Are there avalanches on skyscrapers?
Parker: No. But that would be so cool.

    • Sophie: Just how dangerous is this gig you took without checking with us first?
      Nate: Yeah, eh...
Hardison: Ridiculously dangerous. It's like a danger cupcake with murder icing.

    • Eliot: 'Cause I got a footprint. Russian. Spetsnaz.
      Parker: Seriously?
Eliot: It's a very distinctive footprint.

    • Karen: He never got to say goodbye. And that isn't fair.
Nate: It's never fair. Listen to me. I know. I lost someone. You don't get "fair." You don't get closure or goodbye. So you take the anger. I've learned that the anger feels pretty good. Better than the grief. But I know that the anger's something that gets me up, gets me going in the morning. But you know, you have to be a little bit careful, because if you let yourself be driven by the anger, it will blind you and you'll get into trouble over and over again just so you can feel. Just so you can... beat something.
      Karen: What happens then?
Nate: Well, eventually you run into something that your anger can't beat.
      Karen: Like a mountain?
Nate: You realize that... that your luck has run out. And it's a long way down.

    • Eliot: Hey. It's a good thing it was us.
      Parker: Because we'd leave him.
Eliot: Because they would've kept trying and they would've froze to death right next to him. Especially Hardison. So it was a good thing it was us. The two of us--we do things they can't... won't.
Parker: Does that make us bad?
Eliot: It makes us... us. Now, you can take that as a gift... or you can take it as a curse. And that's up to you.

    • Nate: Now, let me get this straight. When I said--when I said "simple stall," you heard... "multinational, high-finance feeding frenzy," right?
      Sophie: Tomahto, tomato.

    • Parker: You realize this isn't going to be normal, right?
Hardison: You know, my Nana used to say that what's normal is whatever works for you. We all work okay.
Parker: I should meet your Nana.
Hardison: Yeah, you should. She's ni... no. Wait. What?
