"The Underground Job" seemed good in premise, the gang tackles a corrupt mine in West Virginia, it was original, it was unique, but the episode was just boring, and that unique premise could not mask what a predictable episode this really was. From start to finish the viewer knew exactly how everything would play out and there was not a surprise in the hour.
I think that the show could benefit from new writers. The characters are good, the backstory is good, but lately the show just hasn't been good on a week to week basis. Maybe some fresh faces writing the stories will improve the quality.
