Which Detective Show do you prefer?

    I think I'm:

    1. Foyle's War

    2. Lewis

    3. Morse

    4. Midsomer Murders

    5. A Touch of Frost

Morse will always be my favourite so:
    1. Morse
    2. Lewis
    3. A Touch of Frost
    4. Foyle's War
    5. Midsomer Murders

My order of preference would be this:

    1) A Touch of Frost and Poirot(!)
    3) Morse
    4) Midsomer Murders and Foyle's War
    6) Lewis

I'm rather surprised that David Suchet's (or rather Agatha Christie's) Poirot is not on the list.

IMHO and with all due respect for the acting capabilities of the late John Thaw, I think that David Jason and mr. Suchet are two of Englands finest actors -ever!

Ok! I've said my piece ... now you may go get the axe!

It's hard to choose my favorite of these British detectives. I love all of them.

They are all good but I like The Inspector Lynley Mysteries the best I think.

I won't even try to put them in any order... I'd add Dalziel&Pascoe to the list of great British cop shows.

    My list goes:

    1. Lewis
    2. Inspector Morse
    3. Midsomer Murders

I can't rate the other two as I've never watched them.

This one is actually a rather difficult list for me with so many good ones:

    1. Poirot, Miss Marple

    2. Morse

    3. Touch of Frost, Inspector Lynley Mysteries

    4. Midsomer Murders, Foyle's War

    5. Dalziel & Pascoe, Murder City

    6. Murphy's Law

And a few other "who done its" I like, although not true "detective stories" are: The Mrs. Bradley Mysteries, Wire in the Blood, Silent Witness & Waking the Dead

I liked the Lewis Pilot a lot but can't rank it until I watch it this summer

i asked my parents this one recently and they didn't know. Mine's Lewis. I must admit i've never watched a full ep of Morse(sorry) but it doesn't sound like my kinda thing, and i do know a surprising amount about it. Anyway, Lewis and Hathaway are great. Though not sure if i'll be able to look at Kevin Whately the same depending on the conclusion of 'The Children' next week.

most people here don't even know what a great detective-series looks like. ^^
detective conan is obviously the best detective-series if you enjoy great shows:

however, if you accept low level entertaiment, then i guess these shows above are okay.
