Two things make this the episode of season 2. Firstly, the destruction - the crew have failed to stop Mantrid converting the mass of the universe in to robot arm drones. Everyone is dead.
Secondly, Mantrid. Mantrid is logical, his plan is well thought out and well executed. What other way is there for a computer to completely wipe out the human race than by controling the mass of the universe? He loves his job. Mantrid's flamboyant style is all in the pouting, but his statements are well thought out and he is true to his word. His only weakness was for the game. Saying all that, his final words were a bit of a let down. Damn good episode though. I recommend watching the main Mantrid plot in order, that being - Mantrid, Norb, Patches in the Sky, Brizon then finally End Of The Universe.

    • 790: We may be in the Dark Zone, but I am in the Joy Zone! Kai: Mantrid may've destroyed the Light Universe, but we created Mantrid. Stan: So, you're saying that, we destroyed the Light Zone? Xev: Well, I wonder if the Dark Zone is ready for us? Edit
    • 790: Xev, are you...? Xev: I'm fine, 790. Stan: Uh, Lexx, are you with us? Lexx: I'm with you, Stanley. Stan: Oh, well, what happened? Where are we? Lexx: We are in a big space, Stan. 790: We are in the Dark Zone, Security Guard! Stan: Oh, boy, here we go again. Edit
    • Mantrid: It is over. Kai: Mantrid! I do not experience pleasure, but my... friends are deriving satisfaction from the knowledge that their deaths will be simultaneous with yours. Xev: You are a machine, we are human, and we've beaten you! Mantrid: Ha, ha, ha. Kai: In the end, you're just a calculator. You may rule the Universe, but this Universe is collapsing. You have moved too much mass too quickly toward one point. This Universe was born in a Big Bang, and now, it is about to die in a Big Collapse. (Mantrid is silent for a moment) Mantrid: You have played well. Kai: You should've made better use of your human side. Edit
