I really want to show to be released on DVD. There were a few previous releases, but that's not enough. However, PBS does have the complete series on DVD for sale. However it is $600.00

If you go to the official website (which to clarify has not been updated for a few years ((2004))) It says something about a home video on the FAQ section, but as I said that page has not been updated for 2 years so who know if they still plan to release the videos. So I really just don't know.

Why would the DVDs be $600? I noticed the outrageous price when I went to find some online. I love the show, and I havn't been able to catch it for about a year because of when it airs, and I would really like a DVD of it, but $600?!

I have only recently started searching for this show on dvds so I won't pretend to be an expert on what is or isn't available. I do know that I have checked on eBay and have seen 3 dvd's (not sure how many episode, but I think it is 3 on each), which can run from $0.99 for 3 dvd's, not counting postage, to $9.99 for 1. So if you want, it may be possible to get a deal on at least a few episodes. I haven't seen them in the stores, but I also haven't been out looking, yet, for a price comparison.

I guess you frequent the website TVShowsOnDVD.com also. This really is big news, but I would still like the $600.00 price tag explained.

I hope the new release is at least under $30.00.

Probably cost so much becuase PBS & DIC have been losing money for years, I mean c'mon DIC sold their game based properies to shoutbox & Merged with cookie jar just to survive, its kinda sad to see such a good 80's/90's cartoon company go down hill....oh well if archie/sega wouldLET THEM make a new sonic cartoon Im sure that would fix everything.

The full series DVD has a list price of $60 (though obviously, various stores like Best Buy or amazon.com, offer it for lower prices). Maybe the $600 was a typo?

Amazon has the full 60 ep series on DVD and on VHS. Either one is $49.99, I just checked.

Wow, um...you got nearly everything wrong. Liberty's Kids had 40 episodes, not 60, and the full series is ONLY out on DVD, not VHS (VHS only has a few episodes out for it). Also, amazon.com is selling the full series DVD for $44.99, not $49.99.

Ummm I just checked Amazon & YOU got everything wrong not me. the advert says "ALL 60 EPISODES" and it says "DVD or VHS" and it says $49.99

That's the last time I try to be helpful on this forum. In fact after this post I'm removing it from my "My Shows" list.

Hate to break the bad news to you, but Liberty's Kids has 40 episodes to the Complete Series.

Here is a way I can prove it. Amazon.com says that the set has a "Run Time" of 900 Minutes. The show was half an hour per episode and if you divide 900 minutes by 40 episodes you get an answer of 22.5 Minutes (900 / 40 = 22.5). That is about right when you take commercials out of a 30 minute program it cuts down to between 22 and 23 minutes.

If you divide 900 by 60 your answer is 15 minutes (900 / 60 = 15) which isn't long enough to add commercials and give you a half hour show.

I don't care if Amazon does say "60 Episodes" (which I have yet to see on their site) Liberty's Kids runs 40 episodes and that's it.

Just bought it on Amazon for $43. A boxed set of 6 DVDs. It has all 40 eps uncut with all the Franklins Newsbites, Then & Now and Mystery Guest Game segments includes. There is also a booklet describing the eps and a huge wall poster.

I'm not sure how many people are still coming to TV.com's Forum section for "Liberty's Kids", but if you are still checking it out...this is the best news yet for a DVD release.

You can find the complete series here, for $9.73 (on sale from the regular price of $12.98). This has got to be the best price yet!
