License to Drive is a coming-of-age adventure story about Les Anderson (Corey Haim), a 16-year old boy who fails his driver's test, but because of a computer error still receives his license. His twin sister Natalie (Nina Siemaszko) passes the test, which makes the proctors assume that Les too is a good, and well versed, driving student. Les takes his friends Dean (Corey Feldman) and Mercedes (Heather Graham) out cruising and gets into several tight spots while enjoying his new, but short-lived freedom.
