  • Quite good theme, but poorly executed, in my opinion.

This episode seemed very interesting, and the hype of the 'world's best liars' definitely made it seem like a great one. However, we soon realised that while the central theme awas amazing and sensational, th e actual storyline and the case became very confusing at several points.

I thought the case was great at the beginning, but as it weaered on, I lost interesting. Definitely not great!

I also thought the idea of Cal being an ex-gambler was hilarious and fitting, and I absolutely loved the way they ended this episode off!

Overall, definitely one that I would highly recommend, and I can't wait to see some more. The episode is worse than it is made up to be, but as a whole, not bad.moreless

    • (Talking to the poker finalists.)
Cal: You are some of the best liars in the world, right? You have to be, otherwise you wouldn't be here. I've got to tell you up front, it's not gonna be a fair fight. You can dodge all you like, but come down to it, I'm gonna win.

    • Cal: You know what my favourite poker phrase is?
Reynolds: I don't know. All in? Open limp? The nuts?
Cal: On tilt. It's so expressive.

    • Reynolds: You are a winner, my friend.
Cal: Nice work. It was double zero?
Reynolds: Nah, I wasn't feeling that. I put it on 14, my mother's birthday.
Cal I told you to put it all on double zero.
Reynolds: So you'd rather lose with your number than win with mine?
      Cal: Something like that.
      Reynolds: That makes no sense.

    • Reynolds: So what's the history with these two?
Gillian: Ellis had Lightman banned from Vegas.
      Reynolds: The entire city?
Gillian: Cal won a lot of money from some very important customers. His scientific abilities weren't considered sporting.
Reynolds Yeah, well, when you ban somebody from an entire city, that's personal.
Gillian: Well, there may have been a situation with Ellis' girlfriend at the time... Vegas doesn't bring out the best in Cal.

    • Poppy: Is your friend Foster as suspicious as you?
      Cal: More so.
      Poppy: She doesn't like me.
Cal Not at all. She fears women like you bring out the worst in me.
      Poppy: Promise?

    • Gillian: You got the note early this morning? And then you got some prostitutes to cause a distraction so you could sneak out of the hotel?
Cal: Kind of ingenious, don't you think?
Reynolds: Foster, why can't you take it easy? We're in Vegas.
Gillian I just think it's a bad idea to antagonize Ellis. Among other bad ideas. (looks at Poppy)
Poppy: I was happy to help.
      Cal: She was.

    • Gillian: (about Poppy) What are you getting from her, other than lust.
Cal: Excuse me? She's still a suspect.
Gillian: She's the female equivalent of roulette. And you like the view.
Cal Well, it's a very nice view. And you're smothering again.

    • (Gillian walks by)
      Vas: Hello, beautiful lady.
Amadeo: Never gonna happen, Vas. She's too good for you.
Poppy: The way she walks, she's too good for anyone.
      Cal: That's not nice, Poppy.
      Poppy Nice isn't fun.

    • Gillian: (about Cal) Keep an eye on him while were here. And don't let him gamble, okay?
Ben: Why? So he won't win?
Gillian: He wins at poker, but it's no fun for him.
      Ben: What's his game?
Giilian Roulette. Unpredictable, purely driven by chance and the worst odds in the casino.

    • Mason: Never thought I'd live to see it.
      Poppy: See what?
Mason: The day they let Cal Lightman back in Vegas.

    • Cal: One job in Vegas isn't going to turn me back into an inveterate gambler.
Gillian: Of course not. But you have to understand the pull that this town has on you.
      Cal: Things change.
      Gillian: But people don't.
Cal: You're smothering. There's no smothering in Vegas.
