    I have a question of my own:

    In the pilot, when Cal is doing the Lecture, he throws something against the wall. Two of us in our house think it was a glass of water but one thinks it was a cup of coffee. Does any one know - i.e. have you a copy of it and can you rewatch it to confirm Thank You.

    Riding the Pine - sitting on the bench

    'moves like he is 5'1' - is quite agile for a tall guy

    A "hoops geek," would be somebody who knows a lot about the sport of basketball. The "hoop" refers to the hoop that the basketball is thrown into resulting in a score for the team. "Six-five, moves like he's five-one. Is it a kind of basketball rule?" That means that he's six foot and five inches tall, but moves like he's shorter, like five foot and one inch instead. Supposedly, a lot of guys/girls who play basketball are usually on the tall side, however moving like you're shorter seems to give you a better play on the basketball court.

    People are sent out from Universities/colleges, and from major sports teams around the United States to high schools where their athletes seem promising, or to recruit, to get the athletes to sign into their college program. So, to say that "the kid's on the list of every nba scout in the country" means that he's a really good basketball player.

    It was an empty cup, a coffee cup that is, so the coffee cup guesser was 1/2 correct.

    It's height not weight.

    5ft 1" = 154.94 cm or 1.6m to keep it simple.
    6ft 1" = 185.42 cm or 1.85m to keep it simple.

    You do not have to be to have problems. Sometime the British accent is difficult to understand. That is why in BBC America they keep telling you to use the Closed Caption feature. Use it and it will help you a lot.

    Because of the saliva in the gum from where he chewed it. If you drop water on a hot light bulb, it will shatter. I do not recommend trying this at home, btw cause it can be quite dangerous. But yeah, hot bulb + water = BOOM!

    I would not have guessed that you would be somebody who cares about basketball and knows the statistics

    Recruits for schools all over the country are interested in recruiting him for basketball at their school

    Riding the pine is when somebody isn't good enough to play during the games and sits on the bench
    (benches are made of pine wood and they are sitting or slang "riding the bench")

    It took a little bit of searching for but it's called Brand New Day by Ryan Star (he has a MySpace page, a Facebook page and a rstar.net page too). I've submitted it under the trivia for the pilot episode so if the editor allows it then it'll be there if you need future reference. I loved the track and his other stuff sounds good too. If you're in the US - which I'm not - then he's doing some extensive touring throughout Feb, Mar and April and seems to be doing a lot of Uni, theatre and college gigs (which if they're anything like the UK then they may be a little less expensive than the bigger venues). I'd love to see him live but by the time he does visit the UK I'm betting it'll be to the big venues which I can't afford ( again)

    At the end of 1x06 there is a song, I've been trying to understand the bottom line of it but some parts are missing for my ears /not native speaker/, I just simply cannot hear all the words, only few of them especially maked with ??? below.
