  • Great episode! An all tieeme favorites!

    10
This was an amazing Lie To Me episode, which was definitely extremely enjoyable and very interesting to watch. The storyline was a fantastic one, an d definitely one that hit Cal close to home.

It was a very spooky episode, with the telephone conversation/calls. They were very freaky and I really liked that aspect of it.

I also enjoyed the suspense that this episode provided. Particularly, when Emily was 'in danger', that was really scary, and they created the suspense very well.

Lastly, I'd highly recommend this episode. It was definitely one of my all-time favorites, and I really enjoyed it. Keep it up, Lie To Me, as there have been some great episodes recently, and I can't wait for some more just like it!moreless
  • The Shield reunion.Sort of.

    8.5
This was a great episode. Cal shows that his special brand of crazy can been seen differently in different situations. He is nuts, but the kind of nuts that makes the show so much fun to watch.

What was distracting was the "Spot 'The Shield' cast member" game I had going on. I spotted six. For a moment I thought that in an ironic twist the bad guy would turn out to be Michael Chiklis. No dice there, but close enough.

The relationship between Cal and Jillian has changed and evolved. In the first season there was romantic tension between the two. It has abruptly changed to a sort of 'just friends' mode. I wonder why?moreless
  • Lie to the Shield, with a British accent? - Fabulous!

    8.0
Took Shawn Ryan a while to do this, but I guess he had the right if anybody did.

I missed Vic & Shane especially, but we got a good showing from the rest - Danni, David Aceveda, Corrine, Lem & of course Ronnie & Steve Billings as you've never seen them before. I was waiting for one of the others to be the actual villain, I was hoping for Vic, but it wasn't to be. Other than the 'spot a shield' game, Tim Roth was his usual irascible self. Over the top every minute, but the character plays well like that, Cal couldn't be played any differently. I like the move of British actors into main-stream American shows, even now being 'allowed' to play them with their real accents is a fabulous move. Breath of fresh air.

Loved it. The Shield was one of my favourite ever shows. Enjoying Lie to Me too - a fabulous combination.moreless

  • QUOTES (9)

    • Cal: What's the matter, Em?
Emily: Did you only marry mom because you got her pregnant?
Cal: No. No, of course not. I'm not that much of a gentleman.

    • Cal: You think I got the wrong person 17 years ago. Don't you?
Gillian: Yes. I think you could have made a mistake. So do you. Zoe was a young prosecutor eager to get a conviction, and you wanted to help her. You still do.
Cal: Do you charge by the hour for this?
Gillian: (grumbling) Classic. Deflection. Classic Cal Lightman.

    • Zoe: So you're telling me, the woman who prosecuted Wilkie based in large part on your science, is that you got it wrong?
Cal: No, I didn't get it wrong.
Zoe: When? Last night or 17 years ago?
      Cal: (confidently) Both.

    • Reynolds: You know, speaking of lunatics, when I said you sounded insane, I didn't mean for you to check into a psych ward.
      Cal: I know.

    • (Loker is talking about leaving the Lightman group.)
      Torres: What about...what about loyalty?
Loker: Well, you know, the way Lightman insults me on a daily basis, blind loyalty would just be self-loathing. And the best time to look for a job is when you already have one.

    • Loker: Do you expect us to share this delusion that Lightman is infallible? That Jason Wilkie might not have been innocent?
Gillian: Without Lightman, you'd be in some university basement doing research,(to Ria) and you'd still be a glorified baggage handler. Maybe instead of polishing up your resumes you ought to think about what you can do to help Lightman.

    • Reynolds: Go home, Lightman. I'm serious. You try and do anything related to this case and the FBI will drop the entire Lightman Group. And quite frankly, you're starting to sound a little insane.
      Cal: Really?
      Reynolds: Really.
Cal: I was hoping you'd say that.

    • Loker: Does Lightman seem weird to you?
Torres: Uh, well, he's rude, impatient, distant. He seems pretty normal to me.

    • Emily: So, hey, congrats on making the paper.
Cal: I thought teenagers didn't read newspapers anymore.
Emily: They do when their dad gets nuts at an execution.
Cal: Yeah, well, don't let it go to your head, all right?
