The journalist (Busy Philipps) is the third star from the former show "Freaks and Geeks" to be cast in Life as we know it. Others being Ben's mom (Becky Ann Baker) and the screenplay writer (Samm Levine).
When Sue "sends" a text to Ben after her bus breaks down, the phone screen is shown on Ben's phone when he recieves the text. But look closely and you can see that it is on a confirmation screen as a draft, meaning Jon Foster typed the message on his phone himself and there was never a text sent.
Deborah's IM screenname is Deb101.
Sue's IM screenname is SoSueMe.
Ben: It's the perfect plan. Sue's dad totally bought it.
Dino: You gotta love a women with a plan.
Ben: You girls are sneakier than we are.
Sue: What kind of friend would I be if I didn't go?
William: A grounded one.
Ben: (to Dino) We're on the Sophomore class ski trip. There's no way we're not gonna have fun!
Jackie: (to Sue) I really did have to pee.
Dino: I don't even like skiing.
Ben: Money is useless when you're dead.
From this episode, D.B. Sweeney (Michael) will be receiving the "and" credit.
After the scene in the bus (when a girl comes up and talks to Dino wanting to hang out later) there is a scene with that same girl taking a seat a few rows in front of them and if you look closely you can see that she almost falls out of her seat exactly before they cut.
This was the last episode of lawki that aired in the U.S. The final two episodes aired in Europe. U.S. fans can view the last two episodes on the DVD set, released in late August 2005.
Music featured in the episode included:
"Somewhere Across Heaven" by Stellastarr*
"I Need You Back" by Ben Kweller
"Catch Me Up" by Gomez
"Wonderlust" by The Delays
"Two Timing Touch & Broken Bones" by The Hives
"Leavers Dance" by The Velis
Three days after this episode aired, ABC's Entertainment President Steve McPherson discussed 'lawki' during a press conference, saying the show would not air beyond the initial 13 episodes ordered.
Busy Philipps (Alex) joins a handful of 'lawki' guest stars that have previously worked with 'lawki' producers Gabe Sachs and Jeff Judah. Busy previously guest starred on Undeclared, and Freaks and Geeks. Both shows were also produced by Sachs and Judah.
Marguerite Moreau (Ms. Young) no longer appears in the opening credits.
