Sam's watch (which we see clearly when he checks it just after the escape attempt) is a quartz movement "analog" with a little window at the bottom where an LCD display shows the date. LCD didn't appear on watches or calculators for another five or six years.
Hunt: I reckon we can take him, I'll jump on him, you take his gun and Cartwright can jump up and down on his knackers.
Annie: Graduation day. Jumping off a twenty foot bridge into a weir, with a bottle of Mateus Rose in one hand— Sam: Go on… Annie: With a bottle of wine in one hand, and me bra in the other. Gene: I think that's just become one of my dying memories.
Hunt: Maybe we should just shoot him… Sam [ assuming Hunt is referring to the gunman ]: No, we need to negotiate! Hunt: No, no, no, him! Litton!
(Tyler and Hunt are handcuffed to a radiator.) Hunt: Well that was a hell of a piece of negotiation, Sammy-boy. Maybe you could talk him into shooting us both up the jacksie.
(Reg grabs Hunt's flask, and pours the contents out.) Hunt: That is a single malt… What kind of a monster are you?
Sam: I'm the negotiator. Hunt: I'll make you a hat.
