Life On Mars

This was a fantastic episode! There was a lot of fun in this with Annie going undercover, the scene at the party was absolutely hysterical. Having seen the last 2 episodes prior to this I was able to see all the pieces starting to fill in for the end of the season. They were cleverly placed, and if you see this before the end of season, when you see the final episode you will be of "OHHHHHH that makes sense now".



The acting again was superb, the writing seemed a little skewed, but set up a great foundation for the actors to evolve in.



Annie truly came into her own in this episode and you saw her stand tall and stand proud, and you (I) wanted to hug her to bits at the end and cheer her on.



All the cast have developed a little bit more and evolved again to a new level of a team and it endeared me to them (them to me) more. Well done to all involved.

I hadn't enjoyed an episode of television this much in years. I was laughing to the point of hyperventilation during the middle of the episode, with the way the actors were hamming it up, the flight crew outfits, and the Tom Cruise jokes, but I had tears rolling down my cheeks at the end as "Point Me in the Direction of Albuquerque" played. Although the David Cassidy comments are prominent throughout the episode, the comment about Albuquerque goes by very quickly, and you don't really make the connection between the two until the end. Very well-written. This episode has the distinction of becomeing one of my all-time favorites of everything I've ever seen on television.

To me - the best episodes were at the beginning of the season and just fizzled after that. Since I don't know if the producers read these reviews or not and this will be my last review (moot point), I have a few things to say:

Your writers seemed to just abandon the avenue of the folder with Aries Project stamped on it and the mini robot that crawled out of eye sockets which was way cool and also ditched great developmental characters like the prostitute that was tuned in to Sam and the time travel thing. I feel as though all of the fans of LOM have been duped by your decision to cancel. You, the producer either have your head stuck in the sand or somewhere else - have you ever considered that instead of there not being enough "viewer interest", it just may have been that the writers (you had too many and they obviously never talked to each other)did not work harder on imagination? A past show that I still think about to this day was "Hill Street Blues" - I really don't much care for police shows but the quality of writing/storyline was so new and inventive, it had me from the get-go. As a t.v. viewer, I have to ask the question: Do you guys even care anymore? I refuse to watch your shows about fat people losing weight and has-beens dancing. LOM was the closest thing you had for intelligent, imaginative entertainment and you've decided to just can it. If I were a member of the cast, I'd be pretty pissed right now that you wasted my time. I hope you paid them well, they did an incredible job with the pitiful storyline that you gave them week to week. I will still watch the remaining episodes because I love the show, but after that - it's back to the library & books for me until next season to check out what you have - I don't hold great hope!
