    • After picking up the series, it was decided to make cast and location changes. Jason O'Mara was the only cast member to stay, and the location was moved to New York. Edit
    • On June 1, 2008, an article in the Los Angeles Times confirmed the rumor that production on Life On Mars will move to New York City. Edit
    • While initial reports about the show said it would take place in Los Angeles an article announcing Lenny Clarke joining the cast say that it will take place in Middle America. Another contradiction was made when Colm Meaney did an interview stating the pilot ran true to the original just making it 1970's Los Angeles instead of Manchester England. Edit
