"Bad"

I mean seriously how did the classic Life on Mars get adapted into this? This is like a parody version of Black people in the 70s straight out of blaxploitation. Even the brilliant Harvey Kietel is terrible as a version of Gene Hunt that doesn't even deserve to bear the same name. If ever there's an example of one of our programmes that should have been left alone it's this, the original was great, 8 episodes a series each fantastic with great writing and acting even in the supporting parts. This poor excuse for a remake has an awful Italian stereotype as Ray Carling and as for Chris, good god what were they thinking. This episode sees Whoopi Goldberg drop in and stink the show up and the introduction of religion something that the original didn't resort to. The only actor that comes out of this mess in a positive light is Gretchen Mol and that's mainly because I have a thing for blondes and the original Annie annoyed me a little!!
Avoid at all costs and just watch the far superior Life on Mars as opposed to Life on Mars US which is not very good.moreless

Finally back to the core of the show!

"Perfect"

This episode is back in line with the original design of the show and the initial episodes. There was actually a bit of a case to work out so that was fun. The episdoe has a good balance of casework and Sam wondering were he is and what he needs to do to get home. I love Fletcher Bellow and hope that his character gets to make another guest appearance. It was good to see Sam having some fun for a change. The writers totally got me with the twist at the end of the show, which shows how much I've bought into the bad cop image of the rest of the squad.moreless
