  • Really great finale

In this episode of, Life Unexpected, the following happens. As Cate and Ryan's wedding day comes closer, Lux tells Baze he should tell Cate how he really feels. But since he can't Lux tells Cate that he loves her, the night before her wedding. And so Cate goes to see him. He says that Lux is lying and that he doesn't love her. And so the wedding day arrives and after talking to his dad Baze realises that he has to come clean. And so he races to the church only to hear that the wedding has already happened. We end the season with Baze standing at the church door looking in Cate and Ryan as they share their first kiss as husband and wife. Lux just stands there looking both shocked and upset.moreless
  • The moment of truth. Baze or Ryan?

The build up to this episode was really great, showing us that deep down inside everyone having doubts not just about themselves but what they truly want.

You have Cate unsure if she wants to marry Ryan or her ever confusing feelings for Baze.

Lux wanting to be a real family with both her parents and not being 100% with Cate and Ryan's wedding.

Then we have Baze. Oh Baze. Not being able to tell Cate how he really feels, plus the ongoing issues he has with his father.

Everything comes to and head in this episode, with those getting what they want. Like Cate marrying Ryan, someone she knows will be in it for the long haul. Finally Baze recieving the love he always wanted from his father, then finally plucking up the courage to express his feelings for Cate.

Thats Great for Nate but it was all a little too late in the end.

I tell to you something I was just as bummed out as Lux and Baze were when Cate made her marriage official. (sigh) Ah Well.

    I really hope that Lifemoreless
  • Who will she choose?

I really hope they bring this show back or else I'm really going to hate the CW because this will be the second time they cancelled a new show that I really liked. I love following the love triangle of Baze, Cate, and Ryan and this episode really gripped me to my seat. I was rooting for Baze and Cate the whole time. It just sucks the way it ended. Poor Baze :( I was just loving how they were growing as a family and it will be interesting to see how they all play out (hoping that they do come back with another season.)moreless
  • A guilty pleasure, I guess...

When news came in that LU was renewed, I didn't feel an instant joy.

I'm glad though that the show is coming back because I think it has potential, in spite of its many flaws.

First, the cast deserved to be back. They are all very good (Shiri Appleby is particularly stunning). Then, the plot is interesting. Of course, it reminds almost everyone of Gilmore Girls but it's still nice to watch. That's where I find the flaws though. Not everyone is as talented as the Palladinos. The writers still need to strenghten their work. The characters are not as smart and witty either. The other thing is that it looks like everything is too easy. Lux has not been in touch with her birth parents for 16 years but she seems to dismiss her anger very quickly.

Some characters are too cliché (Bug) and last but not least, what started as a show about the relationship between a teenager and her parents finally turned into another love triangle.

Nothing that can't be fixed. That's why I'll be there for the series 2 premiere!moreless

  • TRIVIA (0)

  • QUOTES (2)

    • Lux: Just stop making excuses! You spend so much time denying it, and rationalizing it and, and talking yourself out if it, what if you just admitted it?
Cate: What would you like me to admit, Lux?!
Lux: That deep down, you're having doubts about Ryan because you know that you're meant to be with Baze.
Cate: Baze and I, we are not meant to be together. My soulmate is not some guy that knocked me up in the back of a minivan.

    • Lux: (referring to Cate) Are you really not gonna say anything? About how you feel? You're just gonna watch her get married tomorrow?
Baze: I'm not gonna watch anything. I'm going to steer clear of all things wedding. I don't wanna see it, I don't wanna hear anything about it.
Lux: So that's the kind of family we're gonna be? The kind that just sits around, lying to each other because we can't say how we feel?
Baze: Lesson numero uno: that's every family.
