Baze's Father: You know what, Nate? You can kiss the bar good-bye. I'm done.
Baze: You know what?
Baze's Father: What?
Baze: I'm done. You can take your bar, because I am done with you, and I am done with all of this. Sixteen years ago, I was afraid to tell you--and you know, it seems funny, given everything--because I didn't want to disappoint you and let you down, but somehow, I have managed to do that every day since. You were never gonna believe that I was responsible. You were never gonna believe in me. So I don't, I don't know why I came to this dinner. Oh, wait. I do know why. It's because you threatened to take away the one means I have of actually supporting my kid, because that's what I'm trying to do here, Dad, whether you believe it or not, is support my kid, because that's what I thought parents did!
Baze's Father: I supported you every day of your life!
Baze: Not in the way that counts. You call me crazy, but I thought that, that, that loving your kid meant that you actually made them feel like you did. You know what? You ask me why I want to do this, why I want to be a dad. It's because I don't want to turn my back on Lux, the way that you...
Baze's Father: The way what, huh? Come on, say it. Like I did to you? That's the story you tell yourself, to keep from thinking that you're a screw-up? You blame me?
Baze: Not everything in her life was bad. I don't like the looks of it, but Bug, Tasha...
Baze: I don't know. To Lux, they're the good. I mean, if you think about it, we both had families before Lux. So maybe she just wants you to realize that she had a family before us.
Cate: Pretty insightful for a quarterback.
Cate's Mom: (referring to Cate and Baze) The two of you, you're not ready to be parents.
Cate: Oh my god, this should be really good, coming from the women that's on her what, fourth husband?
Cate's Mom: So I've learned to take life's lemons and make lemonade.
Cate: With vodka...
Cate's Mom: Do you know what a sense of relief I have?
Cate: I know, Mom, I know. Lux, she's a great kid.
Cate's Mom: Yeah, but honey, not just that. All these years I thought you lost your virginity to that giant wasp. But the quarterback? You know, he's single, right?
(Cate and Baze force Lux to go to dinner without Bug)
Lux: So is this being a good parent?
Baze: What, ripping you out of the clutches of some tattooed freak? I don't know, is it?
Cate: Yes it is.
Baze: Would you hear me out for two seconds?
Cate: Why? Why, so you can talk me into going to dinner at your parents' house tonight? You know, right, I'm going to set myself up to be you know, ripped apart and criticized by a couple of judgmental, elitist snobs like your parents who think they're better than everyone else.
Ryan: So wait, wait. You've met them?
Cate: No, but I know their type.
Baze: You are their type! You just described you! Ryan, how do you date her without killing her?
(Baze and Cate see Lux and Bug kissing)
Lux: Baze! Relax, we are just hanging out.
Baze: Just hanging out? That's how you hang out? You let some random guy suffocate you with his mouth?
Lux: He's not some random guy!
Cate: Wait, wait. Um, I'm sorry, wait. What, is this Bug, the boyfriend?
Baze: Wait, you knew about this?
Cate: No, only that his name was Bug.
Baze: A guy named Bug didn't raise some concerns? (to Bug) No offense, pal.
(Baze's father walks into the bar)
Lux: Uh, stare much?
Baze's Father: Sorry. I'm looking for Nate Bazile.
Lux: He's not here, he's out...doing laundry.
Baze's Father: Hmm.
Lux: That wasn't a euphemism.
Baze: (to Lux) Do you ever think you'll start calling me 'dad'? (she stares at him) Yeah, dads are meaner, tougher, harrier...

Math: (referring to Baze's father) Look, if Lux is what pushed him over the edge enough to threaten to take the bar back, do something to fix it.
Baze: That's a great idea, Doc. Why don't you fire up the DeLorean, I'll grab the condoms, and we will head back to the 90s.
This is a reference to the Back to the Future movie trilogy, released between 1985 and 1990. Christopher Lloyd played the role of Dr. Emmett Brown ("Doc"), who created a time machine out of a DeLorean.
