I like this episode cause finally Casey wins the bet! I am so glad because she never wins until now of course. But it sucks that George got his license suspended. I didn't like how Casey was being such a jerk on how Derek failed his 4rth time. That's just plain mean. Also I liked how throughout the episode, I got driving tips. I also liked how Marti also gave Derek a lesson. My favorite scene is when they are gathered around the table talking about the insurance & Derek says he'll never let Casey borrow the car. That ws a great way to end the episode.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • Casey and Derek shouldn't be able to drive by themselves at 16 years old. The process to get one's driver's license in Ontario, Canada is divided into three levels: G1, G2, and G. To get G1, you have to be at least 16 and pass a written test. This level lasts 12 months, but you can complete it in 8 if you pass an approved course, and you are only able to drive with a licensed adult. It appears that Derek and Casey didn't take an approved course to speed up the process. Next you have to pass a road test in order to obtain a Class G2 license, which enables you to drive by yourself. After 12 months, you take another road test to obtain the full Class G license.

    • Casey says she's so nervous that her hands keep slipping from 10 and 2 (northwest/northeast) to 6 and 6, when in reality, they were touching 9 and 3 (west/east). There is no such position as 6 and 6, otherwise both hands would be on the bottom of the steering wheel.

  • QUOTES (12)

    • Casey: Der-ek! He drives me crazy!
George: At least he has the license to drive ya there.

    • Derek: Isn't it funny that even when I lose I still win?

    • Casey: It was one small step for women... One giant failure for Derek-kind.

    • Derek: Oh, I don't drive recklessly. I drive confidently.
George: Well, maybe a bit too confidently. You should try being more cautious.
Derek: Oh, yeah, cuz I really want some tips from 'Crash Test Georgie'.

    • Marti: Smerek, you sideswiped my monkey!
      Derek: Oh, I'm sorry, Smarti.
Marti: I thought Casey was teaching you how to drive like a woman?

    • Derek: The only thing my driving is deficient of is a license. And there is no way you're getting your license before me.
Casey: Sorry D, but with my defensive driving, I will definitely get my license before you! And at the rate you're failing, so will Marti.

    • Casey: Mom, can you help me practice my parallel parking? I still can't figure out how to turn and reverse at the same time.
      George: I'll take you!
Casey: Um, George! How, how do I put this? Those who can do and those who can't shouldn't teach those who are trying to beat Derek at a gas bet.

    • Edwin: You failed for the... Fourth time?
      Derek: I didn't fail! I'm just... pass-ily challenged.
      Marti: What's that mean?
      Lizzie: It means he failed.

    • Marti: Casey's a careful driver and I heard that you drive restlessly.
      Derek: You mean recklessly.

    • Edwin: This is the house 'to do' list.
George: There's stuff to do in the house?
Edwin: What? Do you think it took care of itself?
George: No. I just kinda hoped.

    • Ralph: Twin double date! I told you my line would work!
Derek: Your line? You mean, ah, 'Derek has a car'?
      Ralph: Genius, eh?

    • Casey: Ah, but isn't driving the kids your job?
George: Yeah, yeah but I'm no longer legally allowed to do that job and, fortunately, you can!

    • Casey: It was one small step for women... One giant failure for Derek-kind.
