The premise behind Lightning Force was ahead of its time in both conception and plots(re: "The Unit). It was also quite a rarity on the television landscape. Not only did each show contain lots of action sequences, but it deftly worked in touches of humor. On top of that, all of this action with some comedy was jammed into a mere half-hour. This made for quite an entertaining program that had no time to spare on idle dialogue or misdirections in the plot, just to fill out an hour's worth of programming. It also did a great job of using performers you didn't ordinarily see as guest stars.moreless
