      • A new piece of equipment developed by NBC's engineers is used in this telecast. This development allows a director, for the first time, to maintain continuity of action on one side of a split screen while cutting between different shots on the other side.

      • Harry W. Junkin wrote Long Distance for the 9/25/1948 premiere episode of the NBC radio series Radio City Playhouse. (Junkin was the host as well as Director of Production.) It was repeated 8/23/48 and later used again by Junkin on the NBC radio series The Chase airing 11/2/1952. On television, it was performed on Lux Video Theatre 3/12/1951 and 4/23/1953, Star Tonight 9/15/1955, and Schlitz Playhouse of Stars 7/25/1958.
