Oh, for crying out loud....it's not exactly the best ending ever.

I really didn't expect him to win the fight and as much as I like the show I didn't really see much in the way of longevity

The all fight seemed rushed, somehow the episodes that came after Ed Romeo left (Eamonn Walker) felt weaker.

I really would have loved the show to carry on with Ed Romeo as a trainer up until the fight, with a fight maybe longer and incomprehensible (like a drunken stupor) not letting the spectator know, maybe ending the show with the scene where Leary asks his wife who won (that one scene was brilliant).

Still what a year of great show crushed...
    Rubicon
    Lights Out
    SGU
    etc...

I'm not really sure if people just don't want to see stories develop (sure the pace is slower than an all action show but the dramatic weight is greater) or if it's just the end of great (but expensive) shows on small cable networks.

Romeo was kind of garanteeing a victory. He was pushing all the drama away from Lights... eventually it would have gotten old.
With Romeo on his side it was gonna be too perfect.
The episode with the mom was not very exciting... I guess it really felt like "an episode". She walks into his life, and out... and the contiuity of the show is unaffected. It was pointless.

As for the finale, I liked it. Since the show is done... I'm glad we got a victory.
But for a real shocker... it would have been more powerful had they left us seeing things from Lights' boxer's dementia perspective... not really knowing who won, confused about everything... making the victory he just got look too good to be true.

But anwyays... good enough. If they had to end it here I'm glad they just gave us a victory.

Wasn't to sure on this show to start with. However towards the end it grew on me.

But that last episode was so rushed, 12 episodes leading up to the fight, then half an episiode showing the fight.

Hopefully a second season on some other channel and they will have time to think about writing a proper ending to season 2.

A 22 episode run would have been nice, and the finale could have been so much worse. The ending did leave me open mouthed.
