Episode Summary

When two families - one black, one white - share the same house, they discover that their differences are definitely more than skin deep. Tanya (Peete), Ed and their teen kids are a middle-class African-American family who open their doors for an old friend who is down on her luck. Newly single Maddie (Farr) and her 16 year-old son Keith just need a place to stay until they can get back on their feet. What sounds like a perfect arrangement soon becomes non-stop tension (and laughs) as the two families argue about everything but skin color!moreless

      • Keith: (to Tanya, in bathroom) I'm naked here! Tanya: (to Keith) Oh relax Keith. I've cleaned you, I've diapered you, I've seen parts of you you couldn't find with a mirror. Keith: (to Tanya) I've got new stuff since then. Tanya: (to Ed) The boy needs a strong male influence. Ed: (to Tanya) Tell him to watch Dr. Phil. Tanya: (to Ed) Come on honey. Nothing's sexier than a big man obeying his wife. Keith: (to Tanya) You can't ground me, you're not my mother! Tanya: (to Keith (sarcastically)) I'm not! (to family) Did you hear that? I am not the boys mama. Pop: (to Tanya) Well, I'll be damed, he looks just like ya! Danika: (to Keith) You know you're kind of cute when you're not trying to be a jerk. Keith: (to Danika) Really? Danika: (to Keith) No. Ed: (to Keith, about wife Tanya) She's not the boss of me. Keith: (to Ed) Yeah, me either. Tanya: (to both of them, afar) The hell I'm not! Edit
