Lil Wayne's 'Road to Rikers'

Show Summary

In Lil Wayne's Road to Rikers, the biggest rapper on the planet documents his final days before starting a one year jail term at the notorious penitentiary. In July of 2007, Lil Wayne was arrested when a loaded weapon was found on his tour bus. In October of 2009, he admitted to the offense. The legal troubles arrived at an inopportune time for the rapper. Weezy was coming off as the best selling artist of 2008 with the Grammy-winning Tha Carter III. In addition to his own album, 2008 saw Lil Wayne guesting on dozens of other projects as well as becoming the first rapper to perform at The Country Music Awards. The rap artist's prolific nature is well-documented in this series. Up until the day he ships off, Weezy works on two separate music videos, records several new tracks, and finds time to hit the town with his friends. Days before his sentence began, Lil Wayne left his fans with this quote: "Law is mind without reason...I'll return."moreless
